SFD recused 6 people this morning who were trapped inside a 3rd floor, enclosed porch when fire began consuming their Strong St home. Firefighters used ladders to get to the people and helped them get safely to the ground. No one was injures according to Deputy Chief Kurt Gerfin.
The firefight was initially complicated by a non-functioning hydrant in front of the house at 859 Strong St. Firefighters used water stored on tanker trucks after learning the hydrant wasn't working. The blaze was reported shortly before 10AM. It appears the fire was concentrated on the back of the building. |
