Are you kidding me? Tom and Jerry, because of their personal issues, are destroying the party (what's left of it that they haven't already destroyed).
Tom ~ you're a disgrace. Everyone knows that you have a term and cannot be "voted out" right now ~ but you will go out in disgrace because you have no integrity.
GB ~ Anyone who has had any interaction with Surhada in the last two months can verify that he has said and done so many things that he has no credibility left with anyone except Tom & Jerry.
Spidey/Lantern/Tom/Jerry/Joe ~ when the party fails as badly as it has ~ the blame is on the leadership. Arrogance (hence EGO and company) were voted out by the people because they failed to lead and keep the party together ~ next committee vote on Buchanan will surely produce a sad egress for a man who puts himself and personal vendettas before the part.
I have heard that Mertz and Buchanan have some personal issue between them ~ can someone ask each of these guys for their side of the story ~ would love to know what that's all about.
Let's be the devil's advocate for a minute. Let's say that TB and GPi are really trying the best they can and REALLY think they are making the right choices and decisions in the best interest for the taxpayers.....not the party or the party bosses. If that were true, and I highly doubt it.....they and their committee should recognize the fact that 'it isn't working' and step aside for the sake of the taxpayers.
They have made blunder after blunder with their 'best they could do' scenario. First they pull JS from the county seat and put him up against his own fellow republican JM for town board. Second, they allow the candidates to run on supporting REMS. Third, they take MB, an unknown environmentalist to run for JS county seat. Forth, they refuse to endorse anyone from the NNTP, who were reps and cons! Fifth, they campaign against fdg by saying he is illiterate. Although it really is true, it was in poor taste. Sixth, they appoint GP, of all people, to the town board! WTH!! And lastly seventh, THEY LOST MISERABLY!!! They literally gave the farm away!!!
Now with all of these blunders in mind, why would they still be anywhere near a leadership role? Beats the hell outta me, that's for sure. I'd bet that they will be trying to wine and dine one if not all from the NNTP. Bring them into the fold so to say and try to bring back some credibility to the party. Well, I hope none of them cave!! Credibility starts at the TOP!
The only way the reps will gain any credibility over the next months that lead up to the next election, is to endorse those candidates, past, present or future one who will run on the NNTP line. But the leadership must change FIRST! The reps will never if at all make it with their present retreads! IMHO
I'm a conservative minded registered blank, hoping to see some balance in our government at all levels. I would jump on the rep bandwagon IF there was a change in leadership and direction.

bumble,
I am a lifelong enrolled Conservative. I am not a registered Republican. I have no intention or interest in changing my enrollment, nor do I see a need or purpose to do so. The internal issues of the local Republican party are theirs alone to address. I remain committed to my No New Tax Party running mates and to those who supported us. The names of the NNTP candidates may change, but the "mission" will endure.
It is my hope that the Republican party and the NNTP can find conservative candidates of integrity and principle who both "camps" can support. If they do, I will be there to do my part to help. It will be an unbeatable team. There are many who have identified themselves and expressed interest in running for elected office in 2010 and 2011.
For either party (Republican or NNTP) to disregard the other will lead only to continued disappointment and the election of liberal Democrats who will take our nation further to the hard left. The animosities that exist must be set aside for the sake of our community and our country.
I read that "an olive branch" was reportedly extended by the Republican party to the NNTP. This is/was news to me and my running mates. So long as those who are in leadership positions in the Republican party understand that our movement will not be co-opted and that we reserve the right to continue to run our own candidates where agreement cannot be forged, I welcome the opportunity to speak w/ those who want to heal the rift that has developed.
There must be compromise and desire by both sides. The exclusion of any of the Republican party or NNTP participants in the dialogue due to past conflicts cannot occur if there is to be a meeting of the minds. There is a place for all at the table.
A friend of mine reminds me of the Abraham Lincoln quote that "A house divided cannot stand".

In the meantime, a have "bigger fish to fry".
Rift???? what rift.....??? NNTP is a different animal and if we choose to sell it out to 'heal a rift' in a party that is full of mold--- SEE YA.......
NNTP should not be considered stall shew bread.....keep it fresh, keep it clean, and keep it young.......

Spidey and Greenlatern --"go straight to jail Do not pass go and do not collect $200." Are you guys for real? Tom is your man??? You probably were nice people before you took the "stupid pills." Tom is a huge failure at his position. His leadership skills with regard to the party are ZERO. GP is a HUGE dolt. These two have totally destroyed the party. They have hung you people out to dry. Buchanan can't get it together for the party because his personal life is a mess. The party shouldn't have to be his diversion. He needs a break from all of this. Time to regroup whatever his problems are. Then maybe after he is "tan and rested" he can come back and play a part. You guys are enabling someone who has lost compass. "Love him a little less. Help him a little more."
Anyone would be better than those two--even a democrat. It is unconsionable that you and KR would support those fools. Whgat do yo think you can get out of this? I suspect there were others at the meeting who should not have been there as well. None of this makes sense.
Hope Tom will still be "you guy" when the Dems take the rest of the Rep seats. IT'S A GAME--TIME TO CHANGE THE COACH BECAUSE YOU ARE LOSING.
Hey ~ I heard a good joke ~ how many Tom & Jerry committee people can you get to do a lit drop?
Answer: 2 committee persons and 3 candidates
Now you're wondering why you lost the election? Really? There was a time ~ when all interested Republicans could participate ~ where we had 20-30-40 people at lit drops.
Really Tom ~ who do you think you're helping by holding on so hard? You have no following, no vision, no leadership (ooops, sounding like Surhada). Your inability to get all the Republicans on the same team is reflective of your own personal issues. Keep blaming everyone else ~ really?
Now Spidey/Lantern ~ tell me that Tom & Jerry aren't using the party for their own personal vendettas ~ and say it with a straight face.
if we choose to sell it out to 'heal a rift' in a party that is full of mold
senders,
The "rift" to which I refer is among those who possess traditional American values and who demand a return of government to its rightful owners. They may be enrolled in an established party or affililated with no party. They have been polarized distracted and divided by power brokers who seek to further their own goals and those of their bosses and special interests. These politicians capitalize on the confusion, disarray, and divisiveness within the ranks of the electorate.
We, the people, must unite under one flag, the U.S. flag, to restore accountability and integrity to those who serve us, their constituents. There is no "sell out" being contemplated, but rather, an "outreach" to those who share our beliefs and our purpose, from wherever they hail, to work together to advance the cause.

We must speak in a single clear and determined voice of unity before it is lost. And, most importantly, we must think beyond political parties to find the best representatives to elect to our government bodies.

Just for comparison, the No New Tax Party had between 55 and 60 individuals; family members, friends, candidates, tea party supporters who participated in our lit drop on the Sunday before election day. I believe that we distributed approx. 5000 pieces in 2 to 3 hours.
And, they are waiting to be called into action in 2010 and 2011.

ROTFLMAO!! I think these same 5 morons were the ones at the "executive" meeting.

That's why I say let the Reps do whatever they will do and whatever will happen to them....same goes for the Dems.....our problems in both parties certainly is more generational than societal....and I dont mean age....I mean the technology(NEITHER party was ready for it), the economy, the transportation and the now considered baggage, union houses of gumba gangstas.......
as for what to do with these 'new things' we have lost our soul----in both parties just for the sake of 'keeping party',,,,,, very sad,,,,very very sad........it will come about but if we keep talking about podium puck issues we will continue to be staring in the corner of the barn......

The only people I see with personal vendettas are the NNTP candidates who are still crying because they didn't get their nominations. At least little kids take their ball and go home crying when they don't get their way. The NNTP, after taking their ball, completely torched the field before going home. Get over yourselves guys. You can only go so far with impure messages--the public can see right through your populist message and see you for what you are: self-centered, selfish, power-hungry serpents.
That's going to be a hard sell message when most of the real complaining was done by the Reps who lost in the election. The present administration will be watched just as close as the last one was and will be criticized when they screw up as well. I also haven't heard one of the NNTP party candidates throw any mud at either the Reps or Dems and it seems that only a few disgruntled individuals have been doing all the name calling and mud throwing. If the shoe fits wear it.

use your lantern to further into the future not just about the retreads of today.....the NNTP may not last in the 'name' of it's self but, the entire groaning across the nation/at work/at church/at the bar etc will go on....and the incumbants should be shakin' in their boots....BOTH--the dem/rep party gumbas(across this nation) have the disease called "Party Blood"....that's ALL they care about and as far as I can see the Reps are just wandering aimlessly around the grid iron and the Dems are playing for the cheerleaders , making sure they give the braty kid all it 'thinks' it 'needs', ie: national healthcare, TARP etc etc........liars liars, pants on fire...
as for the power grab, you betcha.....it's OFF with the old stale shew bread at the alter of politics......
