HH--you're right George has done nothing for anyone except have a photo taken with Niki DiLeva for her campaign.

I heard that was and 'old' picture and used without his permission. It just may be a rumor....since I heard it 5th hand.

Bumble do you think she would have done that?????  Good grief I hope not.  Amedore should have come out and said something about it when it happened.

This business is a mess for everyone--reps and Dems.  Reps need to man up and seriously dump Buchanan.  And somebody should sit down with GP and tell him what you expect as well.  NNTP has an uphill battle if they are going to try to be a contender.  I just don't see it happening especially now that BM is swimming in murky water.

I think the Reps will see more defections soon.

While it is always possible, I believe it highly unlikely that the ultra-conservative wing of the party will ever become dominant in the Republican Party.  For one thing, some of their ideology offends mainstream Republicans -- believe it or not there are moderate republicans who maybe conservative fiscally and liberal socially. ultra-conservatives do not like these types of republicans, who happen to comprise the bulk of the party. to ultra-conservatives, there is no big tent --- it is their way or the highway, and because of this they will hurt themselves in the long run.

for any party to succeed in america at the national level, it must remain in the center --- it is goes too far either way, it can derail.

the tea bag party is a fringe group  --- all sound and fury signifying nothing -- it will dissolve into the ether as did the No New Tax Party .

that's what Britain thought too.....as for the ultra'whatevers',,,,they need to get back to their barns......no ultra anything, that just leads
to Al Qaeda type thinking......

.............DONT TREAD ON ME.........GET OFF MY BACK..................

The 'center' is only based on the plumbline---but the power mongers like to use it as a podium puck......

Democrat Santabarbara

Schenectady County Legislator Angelo Santabarbara may not have been a candidate for the Heisman Trophy, but his end run to become a Democrat caught his now ex-Republican teammates by surprise.

Santabarbara, sending a Christmas card to most everyone on the county Republican mailing list, ruined the GOP holiday spirit on New Year's Eve when he re-enrolled Democrat.

In his Rotterdam home base, every GOP candidate got mowed down in the last election. He denies that massacre caused him to switch parties.

Some of Santabarbara's ex-GOP pals believe he may receive support from his newly acquired Democrat brethren to run against incumbent Republican Assemblyman George Amedore this November. A couple of Democrat insiders said they hadn't heard of that scenario, but said it would be an interesting race.

Amedore has been a big vote-getter, but disgruntled people statewide are beating the drums urging ejection of incumbents in the dysfunctional state Legislature. Even if defeated by Amedore, Santabarbara wouldn't lose his county Legislature seat. It's not up for a vote again until 2011.

Gee, wonder where MC read about ANG's Assembly boomlet? lol!

Apparently ANG's switcheroo has taken REP "leaders" by surprise-dampening New Year's Eve celebrations. Instead of throwing confetti at Times Square try throwing in the towel. ANG will be the DEM candidate for Assembly and talk of George's possible switcheroo is everywhere. Perhaps George will switch and take on Hugh Farley?

George isn't switching his party enrollment. That rumor was started by a few individuals who are scared of George running against them. (If you can't beat him, you better try discrediting him---also known as a Farley special) George isn't the type of person to switch even though I think he should change to Conservative.

ANG doesn't have a prayer against George. I don't think ANG is that dumb to run against George, but then again, I heard months ago ANG was going to switch and I didn't think he was that dumb to do it...

GA should not switch to the cons party. It is run by the cops and KR. A toxic combination at best.

Let us not forget, that the state is primarily dem. The chances of GA or any other rep to get anything passed in this liberal state is next to zero.

Ang got a pass on his BPA feel good legislation cause of his own personal circumstance. The libs ate that one right up. How can you compete with that when you are GA or any rep who wants to cut spending(government programs) and lower taxes. Ya get what ya vote for!

PG--GA is just not that smart.  He is not well thought of in the Assembly.  I am having dinner with someone in the know.  I will try to verify.  GA hasn't produced.  He needs to go.  He is no Tonko.

LOL, I'm sure he isn't well thought of by the Majority. Good luck getting rid of him, you'll need it.

What is Paul Tonko's real world experience?  He's a career politician.  First the Chair of Montgomery County Board of Supervisors, then Assemblyman, then Congressman.  He's been an elected official pretty much his whole adult life.  The two cities(Amsterdam/Schenectady) in the district he represented for most of his tenure are dilapidated.  He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and he chose the path of career politician.  Did he ever work in the field in which he went to college for?  Tonko never impressed me, accept that a person that has done so little could continue to win elections.

Well Cicero. Just because he is a "career politician" doesn't mean he can't do a good job.  I believe he has done a lot at least up until now.  Many of these folks who have "real-life" experience can't make it in the political arena.  On the other hand, many do well.  I expect we will see FDG  do a fine job in Rotterdam.  Case in point--Steverino had real-life experience and he has been a total disaster.  Don't sell Tonko short.  He is well-respected in the community.

I thought Angelo was close friends with GA.  That could break up a friendship.
