Teenager reports abduction attempt SCHENECTADY — A teenage girl on Monday told police two men in a car tried to abduct her from in front of Central Park Middle School, police said. The 14-year-old girl was walking back to the school at about 11:30 a.m. when she reported two men in a car telling her to get inside. “She said ‘I don’t know you’ and at this point took off running into the school,” police spokesman Sgt. Luciano Savoia said. The car then drove into nearby Central Park. Police responded but found nothing, Savoia said. The car was described as a dark green, newer model with four doors. It was also described as dirty, Savoia said. The incident led school offi cials to put all the buildings on alert, and teachers reminded students on how to stay safe walking to and from school, district spokeswoman Karen Corona said. Corona said they try to reinforce the information throughout the year through assemblies and as needed. The descriptions of the car and occupants have led police to conclude the incident is not related to a reported abduction try in September and one in October. Descriptions in each of the three incidents are of different subjects, police have said. No arrests have been made in any of the incidents. Savoia repeated standard cautions Monday for children to know their surroundings and walk with somebody. In similar situations, children should run, scream and draw attention to themselves, he said.
