Man attacked near Rotterdam tire store

ROTTERDAM -- Police said Friday night they were investigating an assault on a 55-year-old man as he walked to his car.

     
Rotterdam police were called at 5:45 p.m. Friday to Adirondack Tire Store on Curry Road where the man said he was allegedly attacked. The man told police he was walking to his car behind the tire store when a couple of people assaulted him, shoving him to the ground.

Police gave little other details on the incident, and asked that anyone who was in the area and who might have seen something to call them at 355-7397.

Police said the victim was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for his injuries.

Curry Road stabbing unsolved

    ROTTERDAM — Police said a 55-year-old man was sent to the hospital after being attacked and stabbed at the Adirondack Tire Store on Curry Road early Friday evening.
    The victim of the attack said he was walking to his car behind the store when a couple of individuals pushed him to the ground. Rotterdam Police were called to the scene around 5:45 p.m., but had few other details late Friday evening.
    Police said the man was stabbed, but in stable condition when he was taken to an area hospital. They provided no description of the assailants and were unsure if a vehicle was involved.
    Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the attackto call detectives at 355-7397.
    No arrest had been made Saturday evening.

    ROTTERDAM — A November attack that left a man with 11 stab wounds to his leg has resulted in an arrest, Rotterdam Police said Thursday.
    Jamal R. Davis, 20, of 1059 Delamont Ave., was charged this week with one count each of firstdegree assault and first-degree robbery.
    Davis is accused of being one of two men who accosted an employee of the Curry Road Adirondack Tire on Nov. 20. The man was stabbed 11 times in his upper thigh. The assailants then took the man’s wallet from his pocket and fled, police said.
    Davis was arraigned and ordered held on $20,000 bail.
    Rotterdam Police were assisted by Schenectady and Colonie police. The investigation is continuing.
