Twas the month before Christmas*
*When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
* At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,
*not Happy Holiday !*

BT--that was really cute.  Did you write it?  If so, can I print it and give it to some friends?

The posters are out for the Holiday Parade aka Christmas Parade. The horrible Chamber is taking alot of flak for changing the date and name. Don't renew your Chamber membership-maybe they will listen to that?

Gazette Holiday Parade to follow new route through Schenectady

SCHENECTADY — The Gazette Holiday Parade, scheduled for Nov. 21, will follow a new route this year, according to the Chamber of Schenectady County.
The route change is for safety reasons, officials said.
The parade will start at 5 p.m. from Schenectady County Community College and proceed east on State Street to Lafayette Street. It will turn left and end at the corner of Lafayette and Franklin streets.
Walt Robb will serve as grand marshal.
State Street will be closed from 4 p.m. until the parade is over at approximately 7 p.m. The Western Gateway Bridge to Scotia will also be closed. ............>>>>..................>>>>..............http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01005&AppName=1

They are changing the route again? Instead of a wide street like Erie blvd...it's small narrow state street? Other than madness, wonder what the reason was for this change.

Try stupidity. They didn't want to parade down the Erie Blvd. "high dreck corridor"? Call the Mayor's office.

Mayor has nothing to do with it. It's between the County and The Rag.

MT could not be more correct-change the route, change the date, change the name, change the time.
Sheeple plan for this a year in advance. Lafayette Street? ROTFLMAO!!

Business leaders have now finally had enough. It's the Chamber's/Proctor's fault. Black Friday next year.

I don't see the business folks will have a choice. They all belong to the chamber and they all pay taxes to the city. Historically.....has the chamber or the city ever listened to the businesses? Perhaps the businesses are just fine with these changes. It would appear to be the case. IMHO
