ALBANY -- A federal bill will help schools better accommodate an estimated 8,600 Capital Region children who suffer from potentially life-threatening food allergies, U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer said Wednesday.
The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management Act would develop voluntary food allergy handing guidelines for schools and early childhood education programs, Schumer, a New York Democrat, said in a teleconference. Under the bill, schools and programs would be eligible for $30 million in funding -- parceled out in grants of up to $50,000 -- to be used for implementation of new procedures and staff training.............>>>>.............>>>>............

I'm not saying that this is not a good cause, but weren't these guy/girls told to 'cut spending'? How do we justify creating a new law that will add $30M to the already 'in the red' budget?

They just keep piling the taxes on us!

Parents should just bag there lunch, we don't have 20 million dollars.. seriously 30 million dollars for training?  if we cut out the free foot at these things we could save 10million easily...
