There is a Dagastino/Carney sign at Routes 20 & 30 in Duanesburg (near Schoharie County/Esperance line).

But I believe that 'whoever' put the sign up......should be the one taking it down. I hardly think that fdg put that sign up there himself.

Agree with you that it probably wasn't FDG personally who put the sign on the barn...but since his name is on it, he
should be responsible for the cleanup.  Not to mention that it is disrespectful to the property owner to leave it posted on the building!  If the Dems (or is it the Conservatives now?) are on FDG's team, let's get the team out there to
clean it up!

A Ziggy/Suhrada and McGarry/Mertz together by the bridge in Rott Junction. In Princetown a Holly V sign with a Mary Barrie/Mike V "team" sign across the road. And yes the snow has flown.....

Where in Princetown exactly?  If I'm out that way I'll grab them both.  I hate litter!

This isn't 'litter' in the sense you are speaking of. It is not litter that someone tossed out of their car or truck.

These are legal campaign signs that need to be picked up by the party members or the candidates themselves. If it were 'litter', they would be fined.

Okay, don't call them litter, but they are no longer needed or wanted and need to be removed.  I will gladly pick them up for Holly, Mary and Mike if I know the exact location.

According to Town Code, all political signs must be removed within 14 days after
the election.   Since they have not been removed, the code "could" be enforced and maybe a fine imposed?  Or doesn't the Code apply to certain people
or parties?

The issue is, who do you fine?  The candidate?  He/she may not have placed the sign or have knowledge
of its placement?  The party?  The property owner?  That would assume that the sign was erected with the
property owners' permission.

And, how do you enforce this code when there are many, many other signs that advertise everything from
service providers/contractors to fundraisers to garage sales that are posted on private property and public
land and nailed/tacked to utility polls that remain indefinitely?  Holding candidates and political parties to
a different standard constitutes selective enforcement.  It would never stand up in court.

I still think it should be the candidate (person named on the signs) held responsible.

Certainly, the candidate and the party should make every effort to take the signs down after election day.  However, I
don't agree that you can hold the candidate responsible for those that remain.  He or she may have no idea where the
signs were erected.  You can't expect the candidate to drive every street in the town (or county).

Let's include those signs that say "We Buy Homes" that are posted on utility poles 20 feet high (so that they can't be easily removed).  These are
signs advertising a commercial business.  They violate the town code and are being placed on public property.

How about the hundreds of signs that appeared last year that read "Divided We Fail".  Remember those?  Had the image of a
half elephant, half jackass (er. donkey).  The organizations behind those political signs include the SEIU and the AARP.  These
signs were left up for months after the last presidential election.

If you want to enforce the code regarding signage, then all must be held to the same standards.

I have tried to locate and take down all of my campaign signs.  I have spent many hours driving around the towns of Rotterdam, Princetown, and Duanesburg.  I believe that I was able to remove 99% of them within 3 days of the election.  However, if anyone sees any of my signs or those of the No New Tax Party that still remain, please post the location to this thread or PM me.  I will commit to removing them promptly. Or, if they are located near or on your property, you are welcome to remove them and dispose of them.  They will be of no use to me if I decide to run for NYS Assembly
