It was this comment that got to me "I don't see many new,
decent families moving in."  As being one of the new, decent, family's moving in !

Maybe their isn't enough left of that in today's politically correct society?  If someone's house is trashed with crap all over the place and there is there is no evidence of
"Pride of Ownership", well, then sorry, it is pretty indicative that the people living there are not going to help the town much less contribute to a decent society.  You see people that
hang around all day/night-these are not working people.  And, yeah, you can call it what you want, but it is foolish to not be able to see what is happening.

The more you are out and about, the more evident it becomes.

So your saying Coldbrook is turning into a crap-hole?  Well that sucks.. every time i drive thorugh there at night it's quiet as a mouse, and i've spent lots of time driving around there, scouting it out as a "do i wanna live here"  it just seems different to me, shrugs.. then again anything is an upgrade from heroin alley..

Vaedur,

I reread my posts and they were a bit harsh.  I shouldn't have generalized that there are no good families moving in since there are.  A few bad apples annoy me as when I am walking around I see the changes first hand.  Still though, the houses there can be excellent homes and are definitely an upgrade over Schenectady (I grew up there and am saddened at its condition).

I feel that way around a few areas in town. I don't like all of the MFH going up in the area. I don't like all of the vacant buildings around town. But I think that residents, for the most part, keep up their homes.

However......we live in very different times!

Yeah i took it a bit personally too because of the fact of me about to make the biggest investment of my life to move there!  Kinda "freaked me out a bit' but i'm fine.. all is good.. again, anything beats heroin alley, and they home we are moving into is a dream home for my "first home"

under 3 weeks.. woot!

Don't take it personally. It was directed at YOU! It was a general statement which many people share, no matter where they live. And you really should take these opinions as a positive. At least people are taking an interest in their town/community.

Anyway....you'll love it and you are in a great school system! A lot of family/parental involvement.
