A rotterdam, mohonasen district business went up about $60. That's all I have heard of so far. Mine went up about $60 too.
Someone from schalmont district told me they were under the impression that their school taxes would not go up this year if the budget was passed. Anyone know? |

That's for your 2010 town taxes-not school taxes! Meanwhile we have a few dupes jumping up and down about a phony mini-2% cut in bloated County taxes. Which will be totally washed out next year. Look for a 10-20% minumum increase in town/City taxes because of the DEM Comptroller's "job" managing pension accounts. Yeah, the one party thang is really working well. |

ROTTERDAM Tax bills hit homeowners hard New assessments add thousands to school payments BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter
Darwin Brudos knew he’d be paying more taxes when he received notice that his assessment was increasing by $253,000 last spring. The 82-year-old retired General Electric engineer has owned his modest home on 120 acres along Putnam Road for nearly a half a century and has no intention of ever developing the land. So when his school tax bill came from Schalmont this month, he was shocked to find that all but 10 acres of his property were considered non-residential property under the district’s dual tax system. He was even more surprised to find an additional tax bill for $4,520 was retroactively applied to his property, which is now valued at $514,632. As a result, Brudos’ school tax bill this fall totaled $12,460 — an increase of nearly $10,000 over what he paid in 2008. “I was pretty sure they’d go up, but I had no idea how much,” he said Tuesday. “In no way was I prepared to pay this amount.” Ed Gifford found himself in a similar situation this month with his 150-acre residence off Mariaville Road. Do you all not see what this is? It's the town forcing the person to sell there land to be devolved so more taxes can be paid.. he pay's 10k? Well if they can get 40 houses on it for 4k each in takes, that's 160k the town can collect... they don't want this guy to pay, they want this guy to sell sell sell! Pretty cut and dry extortion imo. |
| I don't spell check! Sorry... If you include "No offense" in a statement, chances are, your statement is offensive. |

They should blame the past admins(ALL OF THEM) for staying in the dark and 'biding their time' while fattening up their retirements and buying their fancy vacation homes......we wouldn't be having such a conversation if they thought past themselves.... |
