Homeowner wants $200K seized in drug raid returned

Gazette Reporter

ROTTERDAM — More than $230,000 in cash and 68 pounds of marijuana were seized by authorities from a Rotterdam Junction home in February, according to a federal court filing this week.
Now the resident of the home — who hasn’t been charged — is trying to get a large portion of the cash back, saying the money was legitimate earnings and proceeds from an inheritance.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office filed papers Thursday in U.S. District Court asking a judge to order the cash be forfeited as proceeds from drug transactions.
The case stems from a previously undisclosed drug raid Feb. 13 at the residence of James L. Jock in Rotterdam Junction, according to the court filing.
The New York State Police CNET and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration cooperated in the raid as part of a large-scale investigation into drug trafficking in and around Schenectady and Onondaga counties.
On Feb. 13, investigators surveilling the residence spotted Jock and his live-in girlfriend leave the house and get into a car owned by Jock. Investigators stopped them and, at about 7:15 p.m., investigators moved in with a warrant and searched the house and detached garage.
Jock, according to the court filing, was cooperative, helping officers disarm an “extensive” security system linked to the garage. He also opened a large safe and unlocked seven lock boxes inside the safe.........................>>>>............................>>>>............http://www.dailygazette.com/news/2009/aug/15/0815_cashseized/

If you include "No offense" in a statement, chances are, your statement is offensive.

Their dead relative must be rolling over in their grave---or----maybe not......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
