The nation's largest federation of labor organizations has promised to directly engage with boisterous conservative protesters at Democratic town halls during the August recess.

In a memo sent out on Thursday, AFL-CIO President John Sweeney outlined the blueprint for how the union conglomerate would step up recess activities on health care reform and other topics pertinent to the labor community. The document makes clear that Obama allies view the town hall forums as ground zero of the health care debate. It also uses the specter of the infamous 2000 recount "Brooks Brothers" protest to rally its members to the administration's side.

"The principal battleground in the campaign will be town hall meetings and other gatherings with members of Congress in their home districts," reads the memo. "We want your help to organize major union participation to counter the right-wing "Tea-Party Patriots" who will try to disrupt those meetings, as they've been trying to do to meetings for the last month. ...

STATEMENT BY AFL-CIO SECRETARY TREASURER RICHARD TRUMKA
ON CORPORATE FUNDED 'MOB RULE' AT TOWN HALLS

August 6th, 2009

Every American has the inalienable right to participate in our democratic process. Our politics is passionate, heartfelt and often loud -- as was the founding of our nation. But that is not what the corporate-funded mobs are engaging in when they show up to disrupt town
halls held by members of Congress.

Major health care reform is closer than ever to passage and it is no secret that special interests want to weaken or block it. These mobs are not there to participate. As their own strategy memo states, they have been sent by their corporate and lobbyist bankrollers to disrupt, heckle and block meaningful debate. This is a desperation move, meant to slow the momentum for change.

Mob rule is not democracy. People have a democratic right to express themselves and our elected leaders have a right to hear from their constituents -- not organized thugs whose sole purpose is to shut down the conversation and attempt to scare our leaders into inaction

We call on the insurance companies, the lobbyists and the Republican leaders who are cheering them on to halt these 'Brooks Brothers Riot' tactics. Health care is a crucial issue and everyone - on all sides of the issue - deserves to be heard.

So, Sal, I'm sure you agree with what the SEIU just did.  I bet that you won't have any of the racists   activists coming out to help fight for THIS black man.

Black Conservative Activist Beaten at Town Hall Meeting Update Video Added Update II Man's attorney speaks
By Rizzuto

Fri Aug 07, 2009 - This turns the narrative we’ve been hearing for the past few weeks on its head doesn’t it? St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

Quoted Text
Kenneth Gladney, a 38-year-old conservative activist from St. Louis, said he was attacked by some of those arrested as he handed out yellow flags with “Don't tread on me” printed on them. He spoke to the Post-Dispatch from the emergency room of the St. John's Mercy Medical Center, where he said he was waiting to be treated for injuries to his knee, back, elbow, shoulder and face that he suffered in the attack. Gladney, who is black, said one of his attackers, also a black man, used a racial slur against him before the attack started.

“It just seems there's no freedom of speech without being attacked,” he said.

Go ahead and vote against the Republicans then, make sure we turn into Nazi Germany. It is worth abandoning your principals because you dislike one or two guys who are republicans. Sure, makes sense. Not.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

The left is expert at shouting down and beating up opponents. Great to see the brown shitrs in full SEIU uniforms. They will enjoy tax free health benefits. They should have worn Brooks Brothers suits to make it a little less obvious.

Easy there chicken little.   I enjoy good hyperbole.........But Nazi Germany?????

Republican, President BUSH signed the Patriot Act into law.  If we indeed end up resembling Nazi Germany, Mr.  Bush will go down in history as the President who set us on the path of tyranny.  Loosening the restrictions on government eavesdropping and wiretapping.

Do we think either party didn't know what the outcomes were going to be? Each party takes a little piece of the puzzle and puts
it into place..........

can you see the web???

What were Bush's brownshirts called? Oh, that's right- ACORN is a leftist group. Stop making excuses for them, You know where we are headed with thug rule in the streets. This gentleman Gladney ought to file a RICO suit and take them on. Where are the conservative lawyers ready to fight for this man?

The NSA.

We don't know what information was farmed.  It was more of a subvert operation.  I'm sure you believe the Bush Administration used the Patriot Act for the "good" of America, and never abused the power. Because Republicans are adherently "good", because they're Republicans.

...yeah, they watched immigrant terrorists who had links to Al queda. God forbid. The next one will make 9/11 look like child's play. Keep dismantling our abilities to watch terrorists. Great idea. This administration wants to look out for grannies in Cleveland that send letters to their congressman, so she can go on the "watch list" as a potential right wing terrorist.

So you support Obama's para military police he wants to create to protect Americans from terrorist? Don’t you think we would be safer if we had a homeland security force that has military capabilities?  My guess is NO, you don't support that idea because Obama proposed the idea.  I'm sure you will compare the creation of this type of police force to the KGB, Brown Shirts, or Gestapo or some other fascist police group.  But,,,,,,,,,if Republican John McCain or GW Bush proposed the same exact thing and called it the George Washington defense of the homeland Act, you would think that it was an honorable and justifiable infringement on your liberty.  As I stated before, you are a true believer party person.  The expansion of government and loss of individual liberty under Republican rule is OK.  While when the same is done under Democrat rule, the rhetoric is ramped up with claims of Communist or Fascist.  The hypocrisy is so obvious - but not to the true believer.
