Sporting licenses changing; fees, age limits are increasing

    Though the sale of hunting licenses typically doesn’t start until mid-August for the upcoming season, Mohawk Town Clerk Kimberly M. Sullivan said one particular type of license is popular already: the Lifetime Sportsman.
    “I’ve been selling a lot of lifetime licenses,” Sullivan said Thursday.
    Numerous changes in fees and the organization of sporting licenses were put into effect this spring; sales for the 2009-10 season will begin Aug. 17.
    But one critical change will affect senior citizens: The minimum age for the senior sporting license being raised from 65 to 70.
    That means people who just turned 65 and planned to get a senior sportsman license at $5 will instead have to pay $47 for a regular sportsman license. The sportsman license allows people to go big- and smallgame hunting as well as fishing.
    From now until Sept. 30, however, people currently 65 years or older can purchase a Senior Lifetime Sportsman License for only $50.
    Sullivan said she’s been trying to reach out to senior residents who come in to make sure they realize the bargain they can get if they purchase their lifetime license by the ...........>>>>..........>>>>..............http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....1&Continuation=1

didnt you read the article, this hurts the seniors, whom i thought you supported....

oh but wait, you also support the obama healthcare reform so that age group of people, doesnt really count that much for anything...right...they will to busy in forced end of life counseling to go hunt and enjoy the outdoors anyway...so line up the beds in that nice new cushy home they are building
