Tedisco offers bill that would recall officials
Assemblyman's legislation

ALBANY -- Citing the month-long impasse in the state Senate, Assemblyman James Tedisco, R-Glenville, said he is introducing a bill that would allow voters to recall any officials they feel haven't met their duties.
     
Under the "recall" law, the electorate could collect signatures for petitions to remove any state elected official, Tedisco said. For a governor or attorney general, 50,000 signatures would be needed. For state legislators, including senators and assembly members, the lesser of 10 percent of the votes in their district or 5,000 signatures would be needed.

This bill has no chance of being passed as our elected officials will never give us the power to remove them from office.

He might regret it if that ever passes ... it might come to bite him in the arse.

Wonderful idea that will never pass, sadly enough. But I give him credit for promoting it. Someone has to, even if it is just one man.

I would hope Tedisco's bill passes because he is the first one I would move to recall. lol. His shameful performance in the congressional race makes him a prime candidate for this legislation. And he also gave his chief of staff a HUGE raise before leaving the minority seat.
