Schenectady County man charged with molesting girl

PATTERSONVILLE -- A 68-year-old Pattersonville man was arrested and charged over the weekend with sexually molesting a 13-year-old girl, according to state police.
Rocco Irish faces sexual abuse and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities were tipped off to the alleged abuse by the county Child Protective Services prompting a six-week joint investigation by state police and the Schenectady County District Attorney's Office. Irish was arraigned in Princetown Town Court and released on $1,500 bail pending a future court appearance. The judge ordered him to stay away from the teen.
The probe is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the Princetown barracks at 630-1700.
I remember recently that the guy who beat the prostitute got 70 years or something, but the child rapists I have seen get sentenced get 3, even though, unlike prostitutes, children don't actually put themselves in a risky position to get attacked by sickos, and are innocent. NOT that beating prostitutes is OK, it is just that they are putting themselves knowingly into the sex trade with strange men, whereas children are children. Of course Cicero, and Somebody will say how unenlightened I am for these comments.

I agree with you. Children are innocent victims. The laws that are on the books need to be changed.
