Once FDG gets in, the state of the finances in the town will be looked at more carefully--finally by someone who knows how to make money and save it as well.  Heard Steverino and Surprise have already been to the U-Haul office.

The first order of business for McGarry or FDG should be a complete outside audit.

Let the chips fall where they may. The Comptroller did a good job finding major issues with Metrograft-he should be utilized. The new administration must find savings.

As far as Walmart militant unions are opposed to them except here where Severino doesn't want a bigger one. God forbid some revenue comes in that's not from the oppressed taxpayers property taxes.

This isn't a S.T. thing....this is the RESIDENTS thing! FDG will lose this election, merely on the fact that his main contributers are the exact same ones that played a negative role in the walmart fiasco. That is a memory that is still too fresh in people's minds.

It 'pay to play' at it's best. IMHO

public buildings - by the people for the people
schools with no tresspassing signs - its public property
hell the Town Clerk marries people in town hall then privately collects $75 of non tax income
where is the towns cut?????

if a group wants to use the space and is willing to front the expense of operation and maint.
make some cash offset operation and bring me some value!!!
just keep your event inside the rooms doors...

rotterdam has very few rooms that can hold large numbers
from the looks of things the big room has seperate exterior doors
thus it is indepentent of the rest of the center

the limitation must be a "maloizzi" thing didn't they get metroplex money?????
arent they writing big checks to DEMs and NNPT????

usual daily operations no politics

and seniors only - sounds like age discrimination to me.....it is a two way street

we need campaign reform - same amout of cash for all running  - no private $$$$

that said
I understand and strongly support its purpose.    but.....

How much will that save me? We are already paying for the State Comptroller. C'mon sheeple-change is in the air. Dump all incumbents-North Country style. Go NNTP.

Right by the people for the people MM--which is exactly why the building is used for seniors.  This is not age discrimination.  The large room complete with exterior doors is a mute point.  The room is where the seniors hold their meetings, have exercise class, flu clinic and other various meetings and parties.  If the politicos are going to use it, REp or Dem then why not let them politic at their functions and hang their election crap all over the center?  No it's a senior center.  Interestingly Albany understands this so much so that the Mayor was able to procure the senior center with help from the County and no one but seniors use it and NO POLITICAL HAPPENINGS GO ON IN IT.

There are other places in Rotterdam they can hold events for 20 folks.

I don't think it should be used for political purposes....EXCEPT....those that are in office should be able to use it for the 'town's business', be it town board meeting...etc....

As far as other political functions, I vote NO! There were accusations a while ago about firehouses allowing political function at their locations. It was rumored that one political party had to pay for their usage of the facility, and the other didn't. So there could be some cronyism going on. I wouldn't suggest muddying up the water anymore than it already is. IMHO

Stop lumping the NO NEW TAX PARTY in with the honeypot lovin DEMS. Talk about a smear by association.

A "crowd" of 20-25 people does not need the senior center. Nobody's fooling us. This is about tricking some confused seniors into voting for Surprise/Steverino again. And it's not working. Clean out the barn.

Little League, Senior Center, Army Depot never get to the real issue-unchecked spending and overtaxation.

sorry i did not mean single party gatherings

sqeeze all in the people into the toooooooo small community room at the library - again

a public speaking event should be held in a netural facility, no signs, no handouts, no private facilities

maybe we should hold three debate/question days prior to an election

open a single mic on the floor for public questions  - not some one reading and censoring them

demand respect of all the attendees, ticket and escort the noisy people out so all can hear

be an american for a change...

I'll give you an american to set it up and run it
you bring a police officer with a ticket book - for the free loading loud mouths in this town
sit and behave like your grandfather taught you

on the honey pot...

dont accept $$$ from a competors backer and you wont be lumped

I disagree with you. Many many businesses give to more than one party. That is a very common practice. Some businesses try to 'share the love' and give to all parties.

Are you suggesting that a candidate NOT take a contribution from a business just because the business already gave to the opposing candidate?
