If the Republicans are running on "Save the REMS".  What is the position of the other major party, the Democrats?

I imagine that the Republicans chose this wedge issue in order to paint the Democrats into a box, forcing them contrast themselves from the Republicans during the campaign.  The Dems have 2 options.  1. They can oppose the taxing district, at which point the Republicans will characterize them as uncaring and anti public safety, scaring up some senior, copservative, and public employee votes.  2.  They can favor the taxing district, in that case, they offer no alternative to the status quo and lose the election.

Has anybody asked Mr. Delgallo his position on the REMS?

The Dems don't really think they're going to win because some public employees feelings were hurt during the Republican tenure?

Well not to be mean or anything but he said it in the paper a few times. he said he didn't know what was wrong or how to fix it but he needed to get in and find out. But I like him and think he is a nice man anyway.

Some people are not used to hearing someone running for office state the truth instead of a standard
b.s. politican answer. I rather hear a candidate speak the truth while telling you that if voted in, he will
be thorough and get to the root of the problems. I'm not looking for someone who claims to have all the
answers because I don't think anyone has all the answers but I am looking to vote for someone that I
trust and respect and the candidate who is going to do his best to make this town better. Fran is an honest
guy, that I know.

No one has all the answers, I agree. You were just very defensive about that business of "no plan," when indeed Frank admitted it himself in the papers.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

I wouldn't characterize it as very defensive, it doesn't have anything to do with me but I do get annoyed when
people take a few sentences someone says and runs with it in their own slanted way. But I guess that is what
politics is unfortunately all about. And sometimes reporters select a few sentences someone says out of a ten
minute conversation and make it look like whatever they want. With that being said, that does sound like
something Fran would say.

I  am sure after this amount of time he has more of a plan anyway. No offense initially, just pointing out he said that but shooting off the cuff is very human and human is always good. We all look forward to what they really will be stating as their initiatives in the near future.

I almost didn't create a name on here...because new posters are always criticized...

But here goes...does anyone else have an issue with $1000 coming from Stratton's Schenectady First Fund, to DelGallo's campaign?  It seems, at best, like an abuse of trust of those who donated to Stratton.

Anyone who donated, explecting the money to stay in the city, should ask for their donation back!

It's been a slush fund for Stratton since day one and I'd be surprised if the people who donated to it
cares about what he uses the money for. I may be mistaken but didn't he use this fund to pay for trips,
clothes, parking tickets, dinners, etc...?

It's one of two slush funds for the Mayor. The press says nuthin-nobody questions it-monkey business as usual in the horrible City. It's so bad the incumbents don't have a single opponent-NO CONS/NO REPS-- First in what Sal? Property taxes-lol. Nobody buys what you are selling.

I and others agree with your statement. That in itself should be a red light when choosing to vote for fdg.

I love how you think that just because he has worked hard his whole life and built a successful business from nothing  he is so different from "the small guy".

It's a no brainer that NO one has ALL of the answers, nor will anyone be able to please everyone.

However, when someone is running for office, and they state that they do not have a plan, and are backed and supported by most business/landowners/developers......a red light goes off for some people.
