WOW....I just saw dg's house. It's magnificent. I wonder how many building permits he had to get for that and how much in taxes he has to dish out all of these years.

B Gage ~ Bum is trying to make the argument that Fran is only running because his taxes were raised and that he (Fran) benefited all through the years with a low assessment and paid little taxes, therefore you should not support him.

I asked Mertz this very question (and here is why Bum is NOT Mertz) ~ Mertz's answer was that everyone should be upset with their tax bill and he said "what motivates a person to run is not as important as what they do once they are in - if Fran is upset with his taxes and that motivates him then GREAT - we need more people to fight government spending"

Two things left me left me hangin a little bit ~ first, sounded a little canned for me, like he had the answer already written out.  Second, I wonder how much he had to do with DelGallo getting in the race in the first place.

He did say he is willing to answer any questions ~ call him or email him.  He does sound a little bit too much like a polished politician, so I wouldn't expect a direct answer.

again

you build/buy a home for $100,000 with a 10% tax levy because that is what you can afford

you build/buy a home for $800,000 with a 10% tax levy because that is what you can afford

what is the difference?

I'll tell you it is only those in your pocket that make the difference----gangsta gumbas regardless of party affiliation

IT'S THE LEVY-------NOT WHO HAS WHAT....SUCK IT UP AND PAY UP......you seemed to think all was free for you?????

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Ok, so let me ask this, then.  If someone like Bob Godlewski gave you this same answer, would you say it "sounded a little canned," or that he "knows what the people are feeling?"

He has been in office for some time now.  He knows what's going on, so for someone to "sound a little bit too much like a polished politician," means that at least he knows what's going on.  Yes, his tenure in office is going to affect how he sees things from now on, just as every single person who witnessed a horrible attack, whether it be 9/11 or Pearl Harbor, will always have a memory of that and it will in some way influence them.

If he was a Democrat, would he "sound a little bit too much like a polished politician," or would "his service remind him of his dedication to the people," and that's why he was giving this answer?

Funny that they're using this against Mr. Mertz, as the party that they are throwing him in line has now officially given him his walking papers.  He's fighting it in the court of the people next Tuesday.  I hope that those that are registered with the Republican Party remember the service of this gentleman.

John Mertz aint no gentleman.  He is a bum from Binghamton who leads with his face and that type of politics doesn't bode well for success.  IMHO Kev Dog

Puddy/Kevin ~ don't misunderstand my post.  I think Mertz may be the best we have in the field, BUT, I have to agree with Puddy in that the guy does lead with his face and that "in your face" type of politics does not bode well for success.

Voters like nice guys who know how to stay out of the newspapers!  Don't believe the any press is good press line, No matter what anyone says, we like to be told what we want to hear ~ simple as that.

Puddy ~ I know Mertz was part of the clan that fired you, so the Republican mess should bring a smile to your face.  You're not that bright though if you think Mertz was the one calling the shots, they used him to do the dirty work.

NEW ~ Race day odds:

Supervisor:  Tommasone, DelGallo, McGarry
Town Board: Signore, Surhada, Mertz
Town Board: O'Connor, Marchinkowski
County legis: Dagostino, Littlefield, Villano, Berrie, Viscusi

We certainly don't need any more "yes Mr. supervisor" candidates either just candidates who think and act for what's best for the taxpayer.

My brother in law just brought over a fdg mailer. That was hoot! Read his 5 point reform platform....

#1 NO MORE POLICE COMMISSION.
......that is just pandering to the cops and cons.

#2 REFORM IDA AND END NEEDLESS TAX GIVE AWAYS
......I thought this guy was a businessman?

#3 REFORM TOWN ATTORNEY'S OFFICE
.......Parisi ain't got a shot unless tommasone gets elected

#4 REFORM TAX ASSESSOR'S OFFICE
......That means surprise will get the boot, macjecka will then rest in peace....and then God only knows.

#5 REDUCE SPENDING TO REDUCE TAXES
     and goes on to say...
COUNTY GOVERNMENT SAVES ABOUT $6M EACH YEAR THROUGH PROGRESSIVE HEALTH CARE REFORMS SUCH AS THE CANADIAN DRUG PROGRAM. OUR TOWN GOVERNMENT RESISTS SUCH REFORMS, AND IT COSTS YOU MONEY.
      and goes on to say.....
AS YOUR SUPERVISOR, I WILL IMPLEMENT HEALTH CARE REFORMS......blah blah blah
,,,,,,,,,,That means he agrees with and supports and will follow what the county leg's does. OH NO!

So is there anywhere in this campaign message that reflects a REAL conservative ideology? NO!! Very liberal!!
Told ya it was a hoot!

VOTE MCGARRY!!!! IMHO

Those 5 items are considered Liberal ideology in your opinion? I could care less who wins this Conservative supervisor primary but you sure do post a hole lot of crap trying to play "rah-rah" for your favorite people.
Reduce spending to lower taxes ='s Liberal.  (that's as dumb of a post as I have read...)

Fdg is just another liberal dem with liberal ideologies. They just don't align with my ideology. I thought that's how it went in a democracy. No?
