Schenectady produces video on budget

If you go to the Schenectady city school district’s website, you can watch a video in which Superintendent Eric Ely explains why the district’s contingency budget would be so high - a segment that’s reminiscent of the UPS dry-erase board commercials.

The district claims that if its second budget is voted down on June 16, it’s contingency budget would be $5 million more and mean a 15.8 percent tax levy increase.

Also, Ely will be at the City Council meeting Monday night to explain the budget to them. Councilman Gary McCarthy requested the visit.

HYSTERICAL!  I HOPE SALLY & PDQ WERE OVER THERE.  THEY'RE SO GOOD AT 'SPLAININ TINGS.

Ok....here's 3 things. First, I have to believe that even though the school budget is beyond ridiculous, people may not be so quick to vote it down IF it was a good school system. If this last fiasco with Raucci and all of the freakin pending law suits hadn't happened, it just may have passed the first time...who knows?

And 2nd....why the heck did they do a 10 year projection on the amount of new enrollments they THINK they will acquire? That was over $6M alone!

And 3rd....It sounds like pure blackmale to me. Either vote this one in on the 16th or there will be a 15+% increase in school taxes. That district clearly needs new leadership!

the leaders are just as bad at reigning in 'credit spending'........the sheeple follow the leader.....where is our rightful shepherd?????
could we even tell the difference??.....usury via government spending is a ...............................
