Bumble,

The information that you posted cites the same statics and dates as the initial post.  It is therefore
reasonable to believe that the initial Gazette story had it's origins in the Chamber information or
vice versa.

How many came here to get welfare and for no other reason?

That would be an interesting figure to get, Shadow...but we'll never know.  Although, if the lines out front of new building on Lower Broadway are at all indicative of that, well......

It would be interesting to see the stats on how many people relocated here for the welfare or for that really good high paying jobs andlow taxes!

According to Labor Department statistics the unemployment rate in Schenectady skyrocketed 3.3% from 2/08-2/09 the highest in the area! This means over 5,000 jobs disappeared. So much for the mythical 3,000 jobs created by Metrograft which is screamed everywhere from the Proctor's program (in a full page ad paid for by you County sheeple) to every Gazetto "news story". Repeat a lie often enough and the dopes here will believe it.

The County DSS Taj Mahal also speaks volumes. This was the home to thousands of great paying industrial jobs. Now home of the new DSS and other buildings to be knocked down for parking. It's already too small and the land above it unstable. Nobody cares. The other joke is that Death Ray promised the old DSS site on Nott St will be a "retail mecca" with shops and coffeeehouses! Like Alco, like Robinsons Square, like Clinton's Ditch (0-3). Nobody cares. Then the pathetic County Legislature reappoints him 13-1 to another 5 year term.

Interesting that the local Democratic machine and the Metroplex are promoting the 3000 jobs created figure while the state and national Democratic party and/or Democratic Congressional candidate Scott Murphy are disputing in Murphy's TV campaign commercials the statistic as inflated.  This after the State Comptrollers' audit of the Sch'dy IDA concluded that the job creation statistics offered by Mr. Gillen are fictional.

The Dems can't have it both ways.  Are there 3000 new jobs that have been created under Assemblyman Tedisco's time in office or are there not?

Perhaps the 3000 jobs are in the process of being created and posted to county government employment boards to support the masses of unemployed and welfare recipients flocking to Schenectady County.

For those who are counting, a relocation of a company from Rotterdam to the City of Schenectady does not constitute a newly created job.  That is, at least not in the eyes of THIS taxpayer.

I heard that the Alternative Living Group on Jay St was moving to New Karner Road.

25 more jobs fleeing Schenectady County? The Comptroller's audit has unmasked Death Ray false job claims. Anyone that spends anytime in the City knows that there has been a massive loss of jobs and businesses in the past 3 years. They refuse to report any job losses.

Death Ray still has not brought one employer from out of the County here. But he has wasted $65 Million dollars on governmental gin mills that never open and facades with no jobs behind them.

You must be like Mr. Magoo driving around the City. Every City Business District from lower State, Broadway, Eastern, Van Vranken, Crane St, even Union St has empty stores, graffitti and skyrocketing crime. Some "rebirth". Stratton and his "rubber stamps"{TM} should all be thrown out of office.

Sell it to your fellow travelers at the People's Gazetto. Rotterdam is the only place in the County you can buy anything. And you want to wreck that. It's your County Krats that are diverting Metrograft money to Glenville not Steve. Try and get an occasional fact correct-Throw us a changeball-your screwball is too hitable.
