Right MT-lol! Like when the County Kratz raised property taxes 10% in a recession and then blamed "State Mandates" which every other County dealt with. What them worry?

They pulled the same opera buffo in the worst School District in the State. Don't blame the Kratz ruining the City Schools-pester your State legislators because they hadn't dumped enough into this bottomless pit. It's not their fault -Kratz just can't stop wasting your tax dollar.

The local Republican Party is filled with a bunch of managers.  No leaders, no vision.  The one that had any sense of leadership was discarded by the Party Managers.

The Kratz hike the taxes 10% and the local Republicans can't formulate an opposition platform on that statistic alone?  Instead they have Angelo offering up legislation to regulate what baby bottles are made out of.

It's obvious the Republican Party rewards loyalty, not talent or results.  And they marginalize any possible talent, protecting their positions of power.  How else can you explain the idiot that currently heads the party?

Please,,,,,,tell me what the vision and platform the Schenectady County Republicans are running on.  It seems they're having trouble getting the message out.

It took Tedisco days to answer the question of whether he supported or opposed Obama's stimulus bill.  They were managing and reading poll numbers to figure out what position that empty suit Tedisco should take.

The Rotterdam Republicans are losing party membership.  Those who were once Republicans are running on opposition tickets.  The facts speak for themselves.  The party has no vision, no LEADERSHIP.

No each and every one of them puts the wet finger in the air to figure out what they should think...

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

ALBANY — Assemblyman James Tedisco defended his controversial decision to use a Republican Assembly Campaign Committee account to pay the legal bills of his top aide, adding that he thought of the payment as a loan.

In an interview Monday, Tedisco said the $32,500 check from the RACC housekeeping account last July helped his chief of staff, William Sherman, in his defense against Democrats trying to use a frivolous lawsuit to bankrupt Republican candidates for Schenectady County Legislature.

He said he has no regrets, even though discovery of the payment last week infuriated many of the 40 other members of the Republican minority. Tedisco stepped down as minority leader earlier this month amid a paper ballot count in his unsuccessful run to become a U.S. representative from the 20th Congressional District.

"I thought it was the right thing to do," Tedisco said. "I regret they filed a frivolous lawsuit. I don't regret standing up for the Republican Party."

He said it was important to support grass-roots candidates who could become state lawmakers. Asked why he only agreed to pay Sherman's half of the legal bill and not that of co-defendant Joseph Suhrada, another Republican, Tedisco said, "Bill was part of our conference. ... It seemed like a conference thing, to stand up for our candidates. ... They've got to be not afraid of running for office because of frivolous lawsuits."

Suhrada won his 2005 race for the County Legislature; Sherman lost his run. Suhrada, a longtime supporter of Tedisco, has not returned several phone calls to his candy store in Schenectady.

In 2005, both Republicans were sued by members of the Mallozzi family. Brothers Robert and John Mallozzi own Villa Italia Pasticceria in Schenectady with their sister, Christine Mallozi-Chiaravalle, who was a Democratic candidate for county office.

The Mallozzis lost their suit against Sherman and Suhrada at the end of 2008. They had alleged that they were defamed during a hotly contested race decided by a handful of votes. The race featured mudslinging on both sides: The Democrats portrayed the two Republican men with long Pinocchio noses; GOP ads targeted the Mallozzis, operators of a successful banquet hall in Rotterdam and the popular bakery, as beneficiaries of politically directed economic development grants.

Tedisco and Sherman, two arrogant individuals who couldn't get past the first page of Rudy's book on leadership.
Don't you just LOVE Tedisco's explanation for shafting Suhrada and paying for only Sherman's legal bills;  "Bill was part of our conference. ... It seemed like a conference thing, to stand up for our candidates. ... They've got to be not afraid of running for office because of frivolous lawsuits." So Jim, who needs to be not afraid of being sued, all Republican candidates or just the one's close to you. Nice way to stick it to a long time Republican supporter and candidate- Joe Suhrada.

Where's Buchannan on all of this..... Oh yea, that's right--- He too has the extra state job working for
Tedisco. (when it's convenient for him to show up....)

They are out for only themselves, F... everyone else. The County Republicans must reorganize and elect new leadership! It's time to bring in new individuals with the proper vision to endorse the right candidates. For the last several years I have said the same thing a million times, "Tom Buchannan, the County Democrats MVP." He is single-handedly turning hundreds of Repubs to other party's. When are the Republican faithful going to stand up and take back their Party? Or are they going to wait until there is no one left........

The fact that both Holly V and Nicky D have switched parties and will easily win-should wake up you few deadenders in Rotterdam. Tedisco lost because he didn't live in the district. Been in politics 26 years and didn't push absentee ballots? Young electable candidates are told not to run this is not the right time. The same losers- run over and over. And nobody says nuthin-nobody knows nuthin-never the right time for change. Things Done Changed.

"political retreads"

I agree w/ you Benny.  The Republican party is closed to newcomers who are independent minded and have fresh ideas and energy.  If you don't agree w/ the party bosses and succumb to their control, you need not apply.

The current party leadership opens the tent flap only enough to allow inside those extending the secret handshake.  A closed community that will ultimately lead to the extinction of the group.  To make matters worse is that each time that the tent flap opens, members leave, they don't enter.

I suspect that as a result of Tedisco's loss and those that the Republicans will suffer in the November elections, there will be new leadership.  A Phoenix will arise from the ashes of a once great party.

With all due respect Brad, Republicans have been handed their gizzards on a platter ... any more "suffering" and you may as well start filling the hole and planting seed on top.

Some are wondering if it's too late to save any portion of the Republican party, or if it's forever tarnished.  Phoenix rising is a great concept - but do you honestly see anyone on the horizon that qualifies to be "the phoenix" ?

Sadly, that is exactly what needs to happen. The present rep party has to die (which they are pretty much there already) and then resurrect with new leaders, committee persons and fresh new candidates. Clearly, the present reps standing have failed miserably. They have failed all of their party members, leaving them with no credible candidates. Which is why many reps won't even vote this year.

Thanks to them (the reps), we are living in a one party system that tax and spends, creates government programs, bows down to the unions which in the end screws the taxpayers.

It is time for the present rep party to be overthrown if we ever want to get back to a 2 party system and equal representation.
