hello, people have hijacked political parties beofre --- remember when the evangelicals hijacked the republican party, turning it into a choir to christ... lol

anyway, ang is not up for re-elction until 2011, much could happen before then..

i am more interested in what will happen next year, when the dems in county leg have five seats up for contention, including those of judy dag and savage. suhrada is also up for re-election. will he get the endorsement? probably, as i believe he stayed out of this cat fight.

i know he diod not have its support and had to do an opportunity to ballot -- what i am saying is he will never, ever get the endorsement through through the front door -- only by OTB -- he was part of the rhinesmith faction and is not looked upon with favor by the current leadership.

That's fine, it will just be more fodder for those who want to reform the party.  Further proving their point of the party endorsing those liberal democrats who don't represent party faithful.  And when I say party faithful, I'm talking about those who are not affiliation with police and fire unions and their families.

Nickel, I find it hard to believe that you are personally associated with this issue. I find it hard to believe, that with the 'almost' beating the present conservs almost took...that any of them would come out with these statements. Especially because you didn't even know that Ang never got the endorsement of the conservs to begin with.

If you are not personally associated with this issue, you should watch what you say, cause you are just digging a very deep hole for these conservs that have regained their seats and making the faction look more credible and truthful.

Nickel...perhaps you are just another who likes to 'stir the political pot'.

And do you know this for a fact? Perhaps Suhrada was behind the scenes. Perhaps? Perhaps suhrada was for this entire move but chose to hide under a fig leaf as to not hurt his next election. Ya know how politics are....screw the people....it's all about me and my politcal agenda.

if u look at my prior post, i know ang did not get the endorsement -- he got it through an otb -- but he worked with rhinesmith's faction.. and besise -- what i am saying are just opinions --- they do not relfect the conservative party or any other party - i am just throwing out thoughts.

wll, is joe was involved in his, he was real quiet about it ---

btw-- perhaps u should read the story in the paper today where pascarella said he will not work with buchanan and sherman but will sitll support republicans as a whole.

what is the phrase, oh yeah, payback is a b**ch

Press Release
Schenectady County Conservative Party Executive Board
For Immediate Release

Schenectady County Conservative Party Chairman Randy Pascarella today lauded the efforts of a group of lifelong friends and political colleagues to beat down an effort by Assembly Minority Leader, Jim Tedisco and his support staff to take over the smaller Conservative Party. Tedisco was aided by his Chief of Staff, Bill Sherman and Schenectady County Republican Chairman, Tom Buchanan, Rotterdam Republican Chairman Gerard Parisi, Schenectady County Legislator Angelo Santabarbara along with their political advisor, Kelly Rhinesmith.

On Monday, September 8th dozens of workers were dispatched from Tedisco’s Chief of Staff’s home in the Carmen area of Rotterdam to launch a two day, all-out attack on the current leadership of the Conservative Party.

Pascarella stated that “Republican bosses were upset that we did not blindly endorse Republicans. We take pride in the fact that we endorse candidates that look out for the citizens of Schenectady County that support Conservative ideals. Sometimes those candidates are Republicans and sometimes they are Democrats.”

They said that they were going to “steamroll us” in this latest election. Pascarella stated “the actions of the Republicans call into question the ethics of the leadership of a major party trying to dominate and control a minor party.”

This victory reinforces that the Schenectady County Conservative Party will not be controlled by any major party. The voters in this county rejected the mud-slinging, dirty politics of the Republican-led effort and I want to thank all the voters who came out to support the true Conservative slate. I would encourage all true Conservatives to get involved in your party for the betterment of our community.

The Conservative Party will move forward, stronger than ever and remains committed to endorsing candidates that support conservative ideals, regardless of their party affiliation.

That statement by Pascarella has another phrase used in politics.  Political posturing.  We'll see what Republican candidates the Conservative Party endorses.  Most likely they will endorse Republicans in districts of Schenectady County where the conservative enrollment is low, and the line carries little to no barring on the outcome of the election.  It serves more as a goodwill gesture, so they can continue to claim they endorse Republican candidates.  Except the Republican candidate in districts where there's a high number of registered Conservatives that could actually impact the election, and possibly give Republicans the majority in that district.

As I've said before, I have no pony in this race - other than being a resident of Schenectady County. I'm a registered republican but typically vote conservative or republican  - but neither 100% of the time.  Plenty of times I've voted Democrat because I felt that was the right person for the job (John Woodward comes to mind).

I'll have to strongly reconsider anyone that the Conservative Party of Schenectady County endorses in the future based on the attitudes, remarks and players I've seen in this thread - without exception.

Duhhhhhhhh.  That's because Rotterdam is the only city, town, or village left in Schenectady County that has a Republican majority.  The Conservative Party's goal is to make sure they change that.

HOW IN THE WORLD can people be saying that ANG is not getting relected? HOW? What does this here have to do with Angelo in any way people. I think there are people who hate him because he is a successful Italian in a place that is controled by non Italians and you want to bring him down. He is by far the most conserv and the only one on the board that stands up and says any thing and has the experince to make the changes we need. No other legislator is the leader there but for Suzi Savage who is a big liberal over there. He indeed should get all the endoresments and get the election next year and if he doesnt then there will be a lot of Italians on the streets signing the pettitions like last time even more since he is in now as incumbant. We wrote the names in before and we will write them in again indeed and this time we make sure we are all conservs and leave the repubs and demos to be there for him il duce. I dont like this kind of talk over here. Be mad at Rhinestone or whoever but leave my man alone.
