I would like to think the town board would sit down with the landlord and try to work out a solution that would benefit the town, the landlord, and the renters instead of trying to solve every problem they encounter with a sledge hammer.

I think they (the town) have won two court cases, Shadow. I expect that once the election comes and goes, there is an expectation that a new administration will support the landlord. We will have to see what happens Tuesday.

How many AFTER THE FACT zoning changes is the real question?  They move in, BREAK THE LAWS AND REGS., plead ignorance and have their tenants come to a meeting. "It's doesn't maaaatterrr whose fault it was, sir...we like our homes!"

How about the negative effect of having 200+ people move into the town at once?  Effect on the town who didn't know, the school districts who didn't know, etc.  There is a reason for policy, law and regulation...it is to keep things in check, and be PREPARED.

Cut the crap here...the tenants may suffer here, and my heart goes out to them.  But they are suffering at the hand of there irresponsible landlord, NOT the town.

I agree.........someone knew/knows something.......the feds are probably under a different rule of sorts...
after that I couldn't tell ya.....but, planning is everything....

I hate doing fire drills where I work....but just planning and practicing what you are planning wont
remove the chaos completely but it does give a direction to grasp.......

COMP PLAN......NOT WANT PLAN..........that should be our motto......

Senders--you have this great tag line about  stop being good dem or good reps just be good americans--in this case of the depot and its residents--it's time to be just good people.  They need time to relocate if in fact that is what they will be required to do.  Give them until June no matter who is in office--goofy Steve or FDG.  It's a humanitarian issue.

If you read the paper or went to the meeting you would have heard goofy Steve say that.

humanitarian----it has a very very short definition

Quoted Text
Main Entry: hu·man·i·tar·i·an
Pronunciation: \hyü-ˌma-nə-ˈter-ē-ən, yü-\
Function: noun
Date: 1844
: a person promoting human welfare and social reform : philanthropist

— humanitarian adjective

— hu·man·i·tar·i·an·ism  \-ē-ə-ˌni-zəm\ noun

I shall add that LOGIC should be included......government should not be in the philanthropic
business.....that is your job Cal....and mine and everyones......that would be separation of church and
state.....we all do our good works hand to hand/eye to eye/ear to ear/mouth to mouth.......

I agree with being philanthropists to the world to a degree....but not to the degree of 'purchasing friends'

we are responsible for all of our choices no matter how good or bad they
feel......but we move on through the muck of life......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

there the city will overrun the town soon enough anyway!
