Paul DiCocco Jr. of Schenectady got a mention last week from Tom Hanks while he was a guest on "Live With Regis and Kelly."

He has been Hanks' driver for many years. The actor blamed DiCocco for always being late, bringing him the wrong coffee order and reading the newspapers that he (Hanks) wants to see first.
"He called me the next day and said the national plug was my Christmas present," DiCocco said when reached at his California home. He said Hanks was "busting on me because in fact I'm always on time, always get the coffee order right and don't read his newspapers."
In the past, Hanks also mentioned DiCocco's name at the Academy Awards ceremony to give his driver a psychological lift while he was recovering from surgery.
DiCocco has been driving movie stars for more than 14 years, starting with Jack Nicholson. Earlier this year, he drove Hanks around for five months during the filming of "Charlie Wilson's War."
He just finished five months of driving Harrison Ford while filming "Indiana Jones," set for May release. Also this year, he did some work for Robert DeNiro, playing a lead role in an upcoming flick called "What Just Happened."
"Besides driving all the stars, I've also landed bit parts in eight movies, so this is a nice way to make a living." The Linton High grad comes home on occasion to visit family and friends.

The only question I know that Sue Savage is probably asking right now is as a former Schenectady resident, is there a way he can be taxed on the money that he's making now?  Even if he's living on the other side of the country?

Geezzzeeee....I guess you must forget how to drive once you become famous, huh? Well, either Hollywood famous, or a NYS politician famous. They seem to all need chauffeurs and pilots also...at our expense OF COURSE!
