almost every "bit"of your so called good news seems to hit me in the wallet one way or another

whats to complain about?

For a long time, certain posters complained that Erie Blvd was a mess ..potholes and other problems.  Then the city gets an $11 million dollar federal grant and fixes it us.  So the same posters are complaining that it was a waste of money to fix it.   That is why I call these folks "nayboobs" -- folks who complain for the sake of complaining.

BTW - if our federal tax dollars hadn't been spent fixing Erie Blvd than those same $ would have gone to some other city or town somewhere in the U.S.   So YES, I am very happy that it was spent here and not somewhere else.

Reality check update -- despite a nayboob's malicious claim that many lightbulbs were out in the new streetlights on Erie Blvd.  The FACT is that EVERY streetlight along the improved Erie Blvd is burning brightly.

Just don't believe the nayboob LIES!

What a TOTAL IGNORAMUS you are DV !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Repaving is a NECESSITY.

But islands, trees and stupid fancy lighting is NOT A NECESSITY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Why doesn't your non-taxpaying pea brain understand that homeowners cannot afford all this.

Residents in the neighborhoods NEED their streets paved more than Erie Blvd "needed" some stupid islands and fancy lighting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But of course, someone who is NOT a taxpayer, does NOT own property, and has not left the childhood nest yet, lives off the teats of two mommies would not understand that

PROVE IT with pictures.

What's the matter, your two mommies won't buy you a camera?

DV's imaginary friend.

You are NOT a taxpayer, like dV you are NOT one of the financially struggling homeowners in the city who must live among blight in the neighborhoods while the millionaire property owners downtown get everything handed to them on a silver platter and don't have to pay taxes.

Surely I guess you also are one of the big supporters of the mayor making financially struggling homeowners pay for the demo of the old DSS building owned by a billionaire, yes?

Guess you cheer, like DV, for the homeowners in the city paying the taxes for a company that has a profit of a whopping $14 M and is a TAX DEADBEAT on other properties, yes?

Ok Mike, I wasn't going to waste my time responding to you, but I decided to clue you in on a couple of things.

1. I am not imaginary. I am real. Very real.

2. DV is not my friend, nor do I ever expect that to happen.

3.You have effectively via your constant mention of the person, made him a sympathetic figure. That's not just me talking, you can see it in some of the other posters. I am also acquainted with some folks who used to post here. Folks who at one time were more or less in your corner. They now think you're a jerk for your constant inclusion of DV in your posts.

4. I need to inquire about your health. Are you feeling ok? Are you able to get to work every day and earn? I meant to ask, are you also married? Does you're wife work as well? Is she also in good health?

You see I need to make sure that's the case, and that you're paying your taxes on time. I don't want anything to happen to my free socialized VA health care. So if all is well in the employment department and you are contributing part of your pay check to me, I just want say I love ya man (imagine "Bro hug" here). If it wasn't for folks like you I never would have been able to retire at 52. God Bless you and have a nice day.

Well, I learned to "never say never" in terms of making friends. You seem like a nice person from the things you have posted and your responses.   We may not always agree on every issue but that has not gotten in the way of my friendships and associating with other people.

Ok I'll buy that. I do doubt we run in the same circles though. And I really am a nice person, although there are some that would dispute that.

One thing I am noticing here though, this is the second time on this site that it's been suggested I might be you. What the heck is that all about?

Ok that's all. This thread can get back on topic if you folks would like.

And DV STILL REFUSES to state what the people who are paying for fancy lighting are getting in return for their money in their neighborhoods.

And tonight's council meeting a TAXPAYER commented that his neighborhood street has not been paved despite that he has been telling the city since 2011.

Naturally, the streets where the taxpayers live in the neighborhoods do not get paved   Taxpayers pay taxes to have necessary services to them IN their NEIGHBORHOODS.

Btu the city dems STEAL money from the taxpayers to pave Erie Blvd and reconstruct it and redoing Erie Blvd was NOT NECESSARY
