5 charged with soliciting prostitutes

SCHENECTADY -- As part of an ongoing effort to fight prostitution on city streets, five men were arrested this week on patronizing charges.
  
The suspects, picked up Wednesday by the department's Special Investigations and patrol units, were between the ages of 39 and 62 and had addresses in Schenectady, Castleton, Scotia and Bolton Landing.

All were charged with third-degree patronizing a prostitute, a misdemeanor, Lt. Brian Kilcullen said.

The men were released on $500 bail to appear at a later date in Schenectady City Court.
