Poll: Congress doing worse job than Bush
BY DARLENE SUPERVILLE The Associated Press

WASHINGTON — Too much bickering and not enough legislating.
That, in just a few words, explains why public approval of Congress’ job performance has fallen 11 points since May, to 24 percent, its lowest level in a year, an Associated Press-Ipsos poll finds.
That’s lower than for President Bush, who isn’t exactly popular, either.
“I disapprove of all the fighting that they do all the time. ... They’re not making George Bush do anything. They’re not doing anything themselves,” said Tammy Lambirth, a Democrat and data researcher from San Antonio.
“They’re not addressing the issues that are worth addressing,” Steve Wofford, a moderate Republican and software consultant from Scottsdale, Ariz., said of Congress.
“They’ve abandoned all the social issues. They don’t want to deal with universal health care. They don’t want to deal with the problems in our education system. It just goes on and on,” lamented Rod Butler, a Democrat from Redondo Beach, Calif., who teaches music at a university.
The 24 percent approval rating for Congress matched its previous low. That came in June 2006, fi ve months before Democrats won control of the House and Senate due to public discontent with the job Republicans were doing.
Just two months ago, 35 percent approved of Congress’ productivity.
Poll respondents from both political parties say they’re tired of the bickering between Congress and the White House and they want the two branches of government to work together on such issues as education, health care and the Iraq war.
The latest fight involves Bush’s refusal to hand over documents and let former White House aides answer questions from the Democratic-controlled Congress about the firing of U.S. attorneys. The dispute could end up in federal court.
“They don’t approve of anything he does,” Theresa Holsten, an unemployed Republican from Lawton, Okla., said of Congress. “He can’t do anything right, according to what some people say. It irritates the living daylights out of me.”

Well, I guess it is quite obvious that the people in this great nation of ours is clearly fed up with the dems and the reps. With the way this country is headed. It's apparent that our government has turned a deaf ear to the people and are just flying by the seat of their rich pants!

We need another tea party and throw all the politicians out and start with a new slate of legislatures.

Consider me there.  Maybe it can be the Schenectady Tea Party to show our distrust with the county government.  We could go to the bridge between Schenectady and Scotia.  Maybe even throw wide tip markers in the water...oh wait, they discussed this at that city council meeting.  Do you realize during that meeting they made it a point to discuss this point, "What width of a marker should be considered 'wide tip,' because I (couldn't tell you who the representative is that said this, but) went around looking at some graffiti and they were not even using markers that were a 1/2 inch wide.  We need to reduce the size of it to 1/4 inch."  Then, they went into a discussion that would be brought on only by Democrats, "But what about the children, they need them for school work."  Cry me a river.

I thought that when Pelosi got in, things were really gonna change. When they REALLY kinda knew that even though the dems controlled the house...the rep pres would veto everything. So  needless to say....this willl be a 'no accomplish' term!
