Hi everyone, We will be changing our August meeting date from the 6th to the 13th. This is necessary to be able to get some people there that we need answers from. Please try to make this part of your schedule. Also let anyone know that I may not have their email. Also we may have some good news for hamburg st merchants from DOT  we will let you know more as we move along.
Thanks Frank DePalma

These 'roundabouts' are just DOT's new thing. they are popping up all over the state. See...you can watch your tax dollar at work! Although it may appear to improve the area, it clearly has nothing whatsoever to do with the updating and clean up and development of Hamburg Street. The roundabout is not what the residents are looking for!

Bumble thru...I respect everything you say, however, the roundabout is about safety and there are factual studies that show it will improve that intersection.

I also believe it will be a great improvement to the area ( Hamburg St. ).....Its a mess

The area should not just be made into a 'drive thru/to'......there are ALOT OF HOUSES WITH FAMILIES that have $$ to spend and feet to walk to shop there-----if there were sidewalks and nice shops........dont trash it with just motor vehicle traffic......that is for Altamont ave.....BTW that bus stop right in front of the senior center and at the light is kind of inconvenient for those waiting to turn.......we need to move it up a little......

I do agree with what you say about the roundabout.
I guess the point I was trying to make was that the roundabout is a STATE DOT project. Their 'pet project' actually.
I believe that the people in and around the Hamburg St. area are looking for 'more' from their town officials. A committment. They are concerned about 'development, safety, lighting and updating.
I'm just looking at the other side of the roundabout issue.
The roundabout is fine...but what about the rest. The roundabout seems to be clouding the other issues. The town can still move forward with a committment on future developments in conjuction with the STATE DOT roundabout

The state seems to be replacing many intersections with round-a-bouts like the one in Voorheesville at rte 155 and Maple Ave, exit 12 of the North way, and now right here in Rotterdam. Round-a-bouts can be very good for moving traffic depending on how the drivers follow the rules for getting into and out of the round-a-bout.

I really do think a roundabout is a good idea at that location. At least we will see 'some' of our taxed money at work!

I agree we need sewers and infrastructure, but the roundabout is a good thing....you would think they would do something with the sewers at the same time......rip up the roads patch them up.....oops rip up the roads again to put sewers in.....or maybe no sewers.......someone should be talking about it...

Unless we the residents pay for them or the town gets enough grant money to pay for them we'll never have sewers because the town can't afford to put them in.
