The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

You people have got to lighten up and grow some thicker skin. You people, and I'm assuming you are dems, have got to stop dictating who, what, when, where and how a private citizen objects to their government leaders. People aren't going to just sit back anymore andwatch, what they believe to be unfair, continue. This is happening all over schenectady county and beyond.

You people have got to stop putting 'politics' in every single issue. Did any of you ever stop to think that people are perhaps more informed than they were, we'll say, a decade ago. Between the media and the internet, EVERYTHING is 'out there' instantly! It is what it is!
Trying to discredit and silence a 'private citizen', any private citizen, for objecting to their government policies, is about as close to socialism as a government can get. It is clearly not American! Private citizens are encouraged to engage in government affairs. Discouraging this, which it appears that some are attempting to do, is shameful. IMHO

I'm not KR....but it must be cathartic for you to think 'someone' is! Silencing and discrediting a private citizen, any private citizen, who opposes their government process is shameful at best!!

Early looks at the parking lot of town hall shows "he who brings the most toys wins."  If you want a parking spot near the building, you might want to get here quick.

For all the "talk" in here that REMS has no support in Rotterdam .. how come the board room was PACKED
to the rafters with REMS supporters.   Not counting the owners and paid employees of Mohawk Ambulance..
there were few opponents of REMS to be seen.      Maybe the "lack of suppor for REMS" is just another
figment of the  Perpetual Negativity Choir.

I didn't see any one of the rumored index cards that all the questions were supposed to be on.  There was much information that was given by Mohawk, and there was the long, drawn out history...again... of REMS.  Tonight was supposed to be about finances and I didn't hear much about that from the REMS side.

I don't call concerned citizens, who vocalize their concern of another imposed tax...a negative choir!! And shame on you for even suggesting such a thing. Saying NO to a tax increase is clearly not a negative choir. It is done everyday in every town/county/state. And in 'normal' towns, when people are against a tax increase, their concerns are taken into consideration and are not regarded as a negative choir!!!

ONLY IN ROTTERDAM!!!

and yet .. I did not see that many people opposed to paying to keep REMS in operation

as for the Perpetual Negativity Choir -- you are definitely in that group -- anything positive that is
brought up by me or others that you label as "socialist democraps" .. you are quick to shoot down rather
than have an intelligent discussion

Or maybe it's because this presentation wasn't exactly over publicized...before it was moved up a week from the originally
scheduled date.

The council chamber was packed with REMS and firefighters...just as it always is when an EMS tax is the subject of discussion there.
And I don't believe anyone has ever suggested that REMS has no support...obviously REMS and the firefighters support the tax.

Anyone other than the interested parties would never support that tax if they had seen what town officials have done their best
to hide from the public. The Mohawk proposal STILL includes the purchase of the building...revenue for the town (an estimated
$86,000 was lost last year alone)...24/7 staffed ambulance with back up as necessary...employment of REMS personnel...and
NO COST TO TAXPAYERS.

Tony Jasenski graced us with the entire history of REMS...too bad none of it had anything to do with the decision at hand. He
actually said that, get this, REMS IS NOW SELF SUSTAINING ! Really Tony? If that were true it would not need to be tax subsidized.

Nothing was HIDDEN from the residents by town officials.

The meeting was publicized.

The only evasion of answering questions came from the Mohawk Ambulance side.

I'm going to find the coverage of this very interesting in the press tomorrow.  One of the reporters who came to cover didn't even arrive until the demonstration by Mohawk was over and REMS had just started.
