Senders, you have no problem paying for REMS if they can bury their budget in the already bloated police department budget? But you have a problem paying for it if it has its own budget and is therefore a lot easier to audit? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense....

why dont we use what we have? the firefighters I'm sure are trained.....they have equipment and do not the police? Mohawk could be called and if unavailable in this
SMALL town, our volunteer firemen and our LARGE police force could fill in.......

I'm not sure that adding ANOTHER layer to the government of 'I'll take care of you, even if you cant afford it' is necessary.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

I might consider REMS if they would show some sort of responsible book-keeping but seem to be unable to right their ship. It appears to be time to cut the financial strings. Our budget dollars should not be turned over to the Federal Gov't.

REMS owes money to the IRS for failing to withhold payroll taxes from those who were paid for their service to the organization.
Were the recipients of the compensation provided W-2 forms for filing tax returns?  Did they consider the pay as taxable
income and report it when filing?  Did the former REMS management withhold the payroll tax but not pay it to the IRS?
The misdeeds of those who ran the organization may have put the employees at risk of violating federal tax law.  IMHO

I would like to understand the conduct of those who once controlled the ambulance service and whose mismanagement is
costing our town money to pay back taxes and penalties.  I believe that the local media did not thoroughly reported the issues
facing REMS and, as a result, us taxpaying residents.

I addressed a number of items concerning REMS at the meeting last night, but as all of you have noticed, this Town Board is
unresponsive. They are apparently more interested in generating sympathy for themselves than delivering answers...or any
useful comments at all, for that matter.

UNRESPONSIVE?? That is putting it mildly! Like I said before....the 'unelected attorney' who runs the show, is protecting these buffoons from further embarrassment!!!

'We the people' do not even have the right any longer to stand before our 'elected officials' and ask them what they plan to do regarding REMS, or anything else for that matter, and get an answer!

PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE!!

Surprising isn't it.....if this TB is being run by fdg AND if this is the way he runs his business....???..........????

Is not starting a 'public' meeting on time is the way fdg handles his business? Says he's gonna be there at such and such a time to dig the hole, and shows up whenever?
Is this the way ND schedules her meetings at her 'schenectady school' job? Ya know....the school she doesn't want her son to go to? Remember she wants to giver him a better life!!!

I think that everyone should go to the next town board meeting with obvious, colored tape over our mouths!!!!! YUP I DO!!!

And perhaps we can all 'write' our concerns on paper and give them to the 'super' when they have privilege of the floor!!!

BE CREATIVE PEOPLE! But most importantly....PAY ATTENTION!!

I am dead serious!! We have to do something!!!!

In the scope of things, rotterdam is just a little itty bitty town. For decades, we have become accustomed to a question/answer session during the privilege of the floor. That is part of quaintness of small town living. ALL small towns do it! Just because they don't have an obvious clue about 'anything', does not warrant a 'stay', suggested by the 'non elected' town attorney, for the town board. What does our 'super' have to say about this? Isn't it he that should be running the show?

It appears that THE GREAT OZ has turned on the mute button behind that big green curtain! But ya know what....they are OUR employees. We pay their salary! We call the shots!  We foot the bill! Don't let them get away with this.

When anyone goes to a town board meeting with concerns about their ambulance service, damn it...they are entitled to an answer. That's the TB's job.

If they are unqualified, unprepared, undereducated...(which they are).....then step down while they can still save themselves! It don't look good folks!!!

the board has nothing to say because the PA system provides the feedback

and i'm not getting the questions in writing   - hows the super going to read them???

its not a deer in the headlight look it is more like a deer head above the fireplace
