It was one of the many additions / changes to the agenda that occurred during the meeting on 1/1.  They are now occurring, again, on the Monday rior to the town board meetings at 5PM.

the Town-owned building next to the PD. Then Calder wanted to know what they would do if the Town refused to sell (why would they do that
Wayne!)...Mohawk replied that they would simply establish a base elsewhere in the Town."

Well it's not the towns TO sell. It's owned by REMS, fair and square. According to the county RPS(which has an image of the property tax card online), the property was first 'acquired' by the Rotterdam volunteer emergency ambulance corps in 1986(I use quotes, because it's not clear how they got the property). The listed owner of 101A Princetown Rd? REMS. That's alright though. Mohawk is spilling cash out of their pockets. Maybe they'll buy the old curry road plaza and use that as an ambulance mecca.

Some one from REMS told someone that IF the taxing district didn't pass, they would not be able to afford their building. That is unless, of course, the county comes in and 'bails REMS out' with a countywide tax lead by TJ and GP and FS!!

The Town owns the building next to the PD...the Cardiff Rd. building is owned by REMS but they may not be free to sell or do much
of anything with it as it probably has a lien on it by the IRS.

Gadfly, I don't know who is saying the town owns that building, but the county records are quite clear about REMS being the owner. Type in the address at 101A Princetown Ave into the RPS web site. You'll see it there for yourself. I think you're right though about the liens.

Thank you Hack...I just saw this. I was told some time ago by a Town official that the Town owns the building next to the PD.

It would be interesting to see if somewhere along the way ownership of that building was just transfered to REMS. After all,
the former Supervisor obviously thought he could just tell REMS to collect and retain ALS funds...he probably wouldn't have
thought twice about giving them another building...especially since he went out of his way to give them everything...which
would have included a tax district if he had his way.

When REMS gained the title to the building next to the PD could be foiled to see when and how this came about. If it was a gift from the past administration would tell volumes about how issues in Rotterdam are being handled.

Public records indicate that the building located at 101 Princetown Road
was sold by the Town of Rotterdam to the Rotterdam EMS on 8/1/1986
