Hey Gadfly!

I understand Mohawk will bill and reimburse the Town for ALS services.  Can you please clarify where the ALS billing proceeds will go if the ambulance tax district is formed?  Will these Town revenues come to the Town, or will they be allowed to stay with REMS?  FDG seems adamant that those revenues are to be turned over to the Town and there was no legal mechanism for an ambulance service to retain those revenues.  So is it safe to assume that the ALS monies would reduce the annual budget property tax, or will the monies get shuffled and hidden.  A revenue line item needs to be established in the annual budget to account for these revenues if this is the case.

http://www.duanesburg.net/govt/docs/townboard/publichearings/...  At a meeting in Duanesburg response time for REMS to arrive at accident on I88 was 40 minutes so I guess all ambulances can have slow response time not just MAS, again selective memory.

I believe that 'rotterdam town property' belongs to the 'rotterdam residents'......wouldn't you agree? And I believe that this would also  encompass the fire dept properties as well. They are all paid for by the rotterdam residents/taxpayers. Just like the town hall, senior center and all parks.

But not to worry.....signs don't vote, remember?

...yeah, if they throw anyone in jail for sign violations then some people will end up drawn and quartered. How ridiculous.

the fire houses are NOT on town land

the sewage plant IS on town land ... and it is illegal for the sign to be there

Didn't realize that it was illegal. There have been political signs on these properties for years. So I don't think it will be an issue now.

DVOR:
Bumble is correct.   The fact that the fire districts' properties are owned by the fire districts is only a technicality.  The taxpayers pay for their respective fire district in their property tax bill.   Check your tax bill if you don't believe me!!

Thank you very much!

I don't know if dvr sees a tax bill or knows what one looks like!

DV doesn't know.  He doesn't know his back end from a hold in the ground.  Remember, DV  does NOT pay taxes.

Note, I do not use the "OR" in his "name" because "of reason" is not part of DV's posts

And uh, DV, can you tell us what the account numbers are for REMS to have had signs on state ROW for the past month or so??????    (state roads)

There should not be signs on the fire department properties, on the old Curry Road Shopping Plaza, at the Hamburg St. circle, or any other property owned or operated by the town, no matter which side it applies to.  It is against town code, and the law enforcement and the code enforcers are to take the signs down per the code.  This also includes along the sides of bridges, but that applies to election signs, not necessarily referendum signs, as I previously pointed out the code that it needs to name a candidate, although the vote yes to save REMS signs could sort of be considered that.

It's a bit late now with less than 48 hours away from this vote.

But besides that........all of this property is the property of the 'taxpayers'! It is all maintained and paid for by the taxpayers. There is no such thing as 'government owned'! WE ARE THE GOVERNMENT!!
