Wow! Avon really exposed you! Too bad you won't have the right to vote on Dec. 14th!
Avon didn't expose anything .. because he/she doesn't know what he/she is talking about.
If he/she keeps it up, he/she will be served with a fat law suit.

If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or, being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with triumph and disaster And treat those two imposters just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to broken, And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch; If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run - Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

So the scheduled December 14, 2010 referendum vote on establishing an ambulance district WITH REMS as the provider is now less than two months away. Where are we with the informational literature to go to the electorate on this issue? A back to back flyer with pros for the taxing district and REMS, back side is Mohawk's proposal and pros. Let Mohawk draft their information, and let REMs draft theirs, submit it to the Town, print back to back, and bulk mail it out!
I don't think you can hold a vote in good concience without providing this information to the electorate! JMO . . .
You are absolutely right Avon...and I have said this all along. If everyone knew all of the facts, I don't know how any thinking, fiscally responsible person could vote to create such an unnecessary tax...and I believe this is why supporters on both the previous and the current Board always avoided discussion of the private option.
The interested parties have relied on the absence of that discussion to keep this scheme alive all these years....along with the scare tactics...proceeding as if REMS is the only option. They have always known that if too many people knew what the forum members who read this thread know, the tax they seek would never pass...especially if the vote was convenient and accessible to all eligible voters...another obstacle to their goal. This is why originally it was hastily and purposely scheduled during the Fourth of July holiday, and the promised absentee ballots were taken away. That was derailed, and it is now scheduled for the week before Christmas with the added potential of snow/ice storms, etc...further inhibiting turnout.
I have always publicly warned that if this vote should ever occur, it would be scheduled at precisely such a time...during the summer vacation season, a major holiday, or some other time when turnout would likely be low and only the interested parties would show up to vote. If left up to them, any others would vote with the false belief that it's either a tax or no ems at all...with no mention of an ems that requires no tax, and no special vote.
In the latest gimmick, the Board has passed a resolution that basically guarantees REMS will be the beneficiary of this newly created tax....it will not go to bid as originally stated by the Supervisor. Why? Well because REMS cannot compete in that process, so that now has to be scrapped also. IMO, this is no different than including REMS in the language of the referendum as the designated ems provider and recipient of the revenue windfall...which was previously determined to be illegal, and which is why REMS was not included in the language of the original referendum.
Anyone who has followed this issue will note the correlation between the growing opposition to this tax and the pattern of increasingly deceptive tactics meant to suppress the vote of that opposition.
Now, just for good measure, Tony Jasenski allegedly throws in a couple of threats. Rest assured, Jasenski will not stop Mohawk from launching the full scale informational campaign that he surely knows will threaten the outcome he desires.
I'll volunteer my 6 VOIP lines and robo-caller software to get the message out to residents, but I'd need a list of phone numbers, no names included, with a prerecorded message (.wav format). I can set it up to do all of 355 and 356 if requested, and provide stats on how long the message was listened to, etc.
Maybe I'll volunteer my services to Mohawk on Monday.

Oh, BTW, I suspect County Legislators are breaking into my home and cracking my computer code to post on this site as if they were the real AVON!
ROTFLMAO! Vote NO December 14th!
The real property records don't tell the whole story. In fact, the information is outdated. You don't know my personal finances ... and if you continue to make public lies about them ... I will be very happy to sue you back to the Stone Ages. You and your kind ... pretend to be the advocates of American democracy .. but you are a bunch of ignorant elitists who practice the politics of personal destruction on persons who dare to challenge you. I will not stop challenging you and your kind.

Those people who value the lives of their loved ones and neighbors will vote YES for REMS on December 14, 2010 .... those who do NOT value human life will have to live with their own consciences.
