Okay.....some of my family and friends have used both mohawk and rems for emergency services in rotterdam. You can't compare the two services. Mohawk is far more superior...HONESTLY!!!

I have heard horror stories regarding rems. Everything from needing mohawk to help them, to being impersonal to the victims, to plain not knowing wth to do!!

I clearly can not go into detail as these stories are personal and belong to the victims themselves. These folks said that if rems should end up being the main service in rotterdam, they would request mohawk FIRST!!

Quoted from Hack
It's a non-issue. To suggest Mohawk is playing fairly in this game would be akin to saying there's no politics involved on Jasenski's end. Both sides are taking out all stops.

Jasenski is playing politics by using the leverage of our own emergency services to push through a permanent taxing district. Jasenski's grandstanding at the Town Board meetings on behalf of REMS was COMPLETELY POLITICAL.  I don't know about anybody else, but the idea that our tax funded emergency responders along with our County Legislator would threaten the local officials in the Town he represents is unconscionable.  This e-mail should at the least serve as a wake-up call to people of Rotterdam, that if you are not paying attention to what is going on in this Town, there is a small yet powerful minority that will use threats to impose a tax on you to gain POLITICAL POWER.

The small minority that resorts to threats are the "regressives" or "the nattering nabobs of negativity"
(formerly known as the Perpetual Negativity Choir).

The regressives want to go back to the days when sick people were left lying by the sides of the road
or floated off on ice sheets to meet their demise.

Back to the days when individual responsibility reigned, and people didn't expected the government to take care of them cradle to grave.  The days before people accepted the 3rd party payer and government single payer systems as the norm.  The days when the town’s people were engaged in the goings on in their local government, not allowing their paid emergency services gain political leverage through the use of a minority party.  The day's when the word profit wasn't a four letter word.

Yes...Those were the days.  Hopefully there has been an awakening.

The ones resorting to the threats are the progressive liberal socialist democrats. One, namely Jasenski. DVR is obviously afraid to state that fact....so someone has to.....thanks SPOTLIGHT!!!

And dontcha love the fear tactics about people left lying on the side of the road??? I almost spit my coffee out when I read that one. I just had to show it to some other folks around me, and they just burst out in laughter. Their only remark was.....'are people in rotterdam REALLY that stupid to fall for that bunch of bullcrap'?

Mr. Jasenski is far from a "liberal socialist"  -- I don't think you even know what the term means.

As far as threats, the Regressives and Nattering Nabobs of Negativity are constantly  threatening people who post differing views on this site .. constantly making up deliberate lies and distortions.

Mr. Jasenski is a fine citizen and a great public servant.  The Spotlight and his enemies are taking
something out of context and distorting it for their own perverse ends.   I would trust Mr. Jasenski not
only with my life but the life of my loved ones and family ... I wouldn't just the Regressives and
Nattering Nabobs of Negativity with even a used piece of chewing gum.

Well they fell for voting in this town board...so yeah, most of them appear
to be that stupid.

The stupid folks are the Regressives and Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity who are constantly whining
and complaining but have never lifted a finger to help their community move forward.

So the scheduled December 14, 2010 referendum vote on establishing an ambulance district WITH REMS as the provider is now less than two months away.  Where are we with the informational literature to go to the electorate on this issue?  A back to back flyer with pros for the taxing district and REMS, back side is Mohawk's proposal and pros.  Let Mohawk draft their information, and let REMs draft theirs, submit it to the Town, print back to back, and bulk mail it out!

I don't think you can hold a vote in good concience without providing this information to the electorate!    JMO . . .

I hear Jasenski has been at the Senior Center conducting non-bias Q&A's about the pros and cons of the REMS taxing district.   I've been hearing the term "soft billing" being used when talking about REMS billing, and Mohawk billing as "hard billing".  Nothing like scaring the trusting seniors with loaded words to get them to vote the way you want them to.

Jasenski sent threatening emails.....what makes anyone think he wouldn't try to hoodwink the seniors???

This is where DVoR's credibility breaks down:

1.  No full time job hence little or no income taxes, social security or medicaid payments.
2.  No property ownership hence no mortgage, house insurance, property taxes, highway taxes, county taxes, or school taxes.
3.  No children that need braces, band instruments, eventual college tuition help, and wedding expenses.

So existence is basically without cost or financial pressures.  This is an outlier that doesn't fit the average Rotterdam resident.  So to lobby, support, cheerlead, or bandwagon for another tax that will have no influence on his finances is somewhat disingenuous.  Certainly he is entitled to his opinion as we all are, but when you get down to brass tacks, he's looking for a handout from those of us that are working and already supporting these social programs.

The Town Budget is in the RED, privatizing to Mohawk is a $200,000 dollar swing to the PLUS as Bumble points out.  Yet DVoR wants his little piece of pie at our expense.  Sorry Ron, you turn your back on the struggling, hard working, tax paying residents to support an unnecessary taxing district so you can get more biscuits for yourself at others expense.

VOTE NO DECEMBER 14th!

You don't know ANYTHING about my personal finances and you certainly don't know anything about
what property I own and/or have an interest in.

Your resort to personal attacks .. and you don't even have the facts to back up your ridiculous
comments.
As for your accusation that I am somehow profiting from the taxpayers or profiting from the REMS vote
that is a out and out libel --- I know who you are and would be happy to sue you back the Stone Age
if you continue to make these kinds of statements.
