DVOR is a Dem and they have to spend our money, they just can't help themselves.

I haven't SPENT a dime of your tax dollars.   In fact, I volunteer many hours to the town and I
have absorbed all of the costs of copies, postage, etc for the Parks  Commission  (minus $10
which was donated by a considerate town resident).
So don't go making accusations that are untrue.

we already pay 5 cents per thousand of our Town Tax to support REMS .. the new tax district is only
asking for 5 cents more per thousand  -- I think 10 cents per assessed value is a bargain when we
are talking about saving peoples' lives.

It's not a bargain when it is guaranteed to increase and the same life-saving service can be provided at no cost to taxpayers.

It is NOT guaranteed to increase or decrease  ...  and if we privatize  Mohawk can not guarantee that its
costs will not increase  .. and if they do increase they will bill higher and higher.

And Mohawk won't promise more than ONE ambulance   24/7/365  ....  REMS has  FOUR in town 24/7/365

Mohawk = LESS SERVICE

Running 4 ambulances is 4 times more expensive than running one and do we really need 4 ambulances in our small town, overkill.

No? Ask any municipality that has publicly subsidized EMS whether costs have steadily risen...Mohawk can absolutely guarantee
that costs for taxpayers will not rise from ZERO...if costs rise for Mohawk they will have to bill the USERS more to cover those
increased costs...that's what financially solvent businesses do...REMS cannot compete with the resources of Mohawk...and if Mohawk
provided less service, they would not have been covering all of REMS dropped calls over the years.

Don't forget your broken promise to end your lame, inaccurate arguments for an unnecessary tax.

Since my arguments are rational and accurate -- and the tax is necessary -- I will continue to comment
on the issue.

DVR....what are you smoking????

Since when did rotterdam need FOUR ambulances???

I know DVR will use the usual 'fear tactics' of how rotterdam has 4 'ready if needed' and that by mohawk having to drive more ambulances (if needed) a whole mile or two will surely mean PEOPLE WILL DIE!

Does it really matter a whole hell of a lot how many ambulances you have when they only have to sit and wait in line at the ellis er to even get in because the hospital is so inadequate?

Mohawk is ALS and can aggressively treat a patient long before they arrive at the hospital or while they are waiting in the parking lot to get in to the emergency room.

It is not a fear tactic .. but a fact ... REMS has 4 ambulances housed in the town and available for
service   24/7/365  ------ Mohawk is only promising to have  1 ambulance housed in the town  ---- the
Mohawk ambulance garage on State Street is at least 6 miles from the closest border of Rotterdam .. if
there was more than 1  emergency .. REMS could respond quicker than Mohawk.

When two of them sit at the cafe on Chrisler Ave for "snacks" (for 2+ hrs) at a time, no wonder we need Mohawk!

and Mohawk ambulance personnel stop for snacks or meals at various locations - as well

Based on your post you expect REMS to go without funds, equipment, and then you want to deny them the
right to eat.  were you a slavemaster in a previous life?

Maybe YOU need 2hr lunch breaks, but I've never seen Mohawk, or any normal person needing 2hrs to complete breakfast or lunch.

I think that the residents who oppose the tax district just want REMS to operate as a business, make a profit, and pay all their expenses without any help from the taxpayer.

Is there no end to your desperation for an unnecessary tax??? REMS only has two reliable ambulances...and those are
scheduled for replacement...with public money if they have their way. Should additional ambulances be needed, Mohawk
would dispatch them from the nearest location...and their consistent record of staying within national standards for response
time demonstrates their ability to reliably cover multiple/simultaneous emergencies. REMS cannot guarantee  a 100% response
rate at all, let alone faster...especially when they are servicing other towns and are commonly seen well outside of Rotterdam
with no ambulances to spare, like Mohawk.

Thanks for letting us know that your promises are meaningless.
