Wow, so it WAS Tommasone's baby finally being hatched from the womb! Funny how they hold things up for politics

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

This will go as well as helderberg medows , in  6 months there will be a building half built rotting due to the ineptness of the planning, zoning and town boards as party leaders pick the best puppets

Helderberg Meadows is actually going quite well.  Homes are being built. Every home that has been completed is now occupied by owner/occupant families.   Work is about to begin on the condominium/townhouses.

There is absolutely no truth to the statement by the previous poster that it was "completely fucked up".  Once again, the nayboobs/constant critics are oblivious to the many good things and actual progress that is going on in our community.

We already have a water flow shortage.

if helderberg medows is not Fu(ked up, why is the there a fence issue and a stop build order issued by a judge

- the political puppets in the varrious boards and commissions in this town are a joke  - all for the betterment of a few - they get away with it because the voters in Rotterdam are so fed up with the bullling, and the lack of progress they wont vote or if they to vote are just to STUPID to know better - either way that is the way party leadership likes it - the resumes in this town are just stunning - no economic growth to speak of in 30 years, same old same old, schools are the same or worse, the mall is empty, no expansion of sewer and water, 5 corners is a dump, 4 corners is a dump, the people on dolan dr have a fence, old forte has a berm, nothing is being done for the people in the junction, the parks are a joke,  the common areas  in the town are unkept(circle, triangles), a police force that does nothing unless there is overtime, paramedics driving around wainting for the next senior to keel over,  but we do have APPARTMENTS LOTS of them  - an assessor who has been involved in public gambling, fired and rehired - with all the appartments you would think we would be raking in the cash  - NO because the assessor under values them because the Planning and Zoning boards can and wont read the laws of NYS concerning buildout

ROTTERDAM NY - ONE BIG CIRCLE JERK

CLEAN UP YOUR F'IN PARTY DVOR before we go the way of schenectady  -oh wait they already allowed that - NO wonder the party chose an a** for a logo

and Libertarian4life wants water - WTF - they're busy with they're hands in your pocket

can someone explain to me when it became BIG BUSINESS to build 'senior housing'? and why?

because in 20-30 years when they are dead who is going to use them...is there another 'special boomer' generation?

RHETORIC:

senior housing complexes = VOTES

why? more equal than others? why?

Helderberg Meadows is a great project.  It has really improved our neighborhood.  Every house that has been completed has been filled with wonderful new neighbor families.

Wait til they meet you, the real you

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Personally, I would have preferred a Shop Rite or Wegmans's store on the site but we all know who pulled out all the stops to kill that possibility.

The Forum-Whitney group will pay Rotterdam $375,000 for the property.

Rotterdam plaza plans expected to get OK
Published 10:26 a.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012

ROTTERDAM — Rotterdam Town Board members Wednesday night were set to review plans for a $20 million redevelopment of Curry Road Plaza. The board is expected to approve them by Oct. 24.

Forum Industries of Clifton Park and Whitney Capital Co. of Lake Success were selected to redevelop the abandoned shopping center and will demolish two existing buildings and replace them with two retail buildings and two three-story buildings that will include 180 senior apartments and other amenities.

The Forum-Whitney group will pay Rotterdam $375,000 for the property. About 2.5 acres of the 12-acre site will be preserved as a nature area with trails, while another quarter-acre will be donated to Rotterdam Fire District #2 for future expansion.

Forum Industries, headed by Andrew Sciocchetti, recently completed a 70-unit affordable senior housing project, Meadow View Senior Apartments, in Clifton Park and is developing two other senior housing sites. Whitney Capital's management affiliate, Whitney Management Corp., manages several senior housing developments statewide, including Westview Apartments in Saratoga Springs.
